I can't believe this (Kubrick) is the Criterion announcement. Unless Criterion was licensed to do the supplements. But this strikes me as a Warner Production. I still think we will get a CC/Godzilla announcement today. It's probably one huge coincidence that they are having same day special announcements.

Wow, catching up on this thread this morning has really been something. Someone really convinced themselves that it was an actual certainty that a Kubrick set was spine #1000 at this late date? The limits of suggestibility really have no end.

Spine number 1000 is Stanley Kubrick's 50 foot disembodied head destroying Tokyo with laser eyes, because he misread this thread and thought that Godzilla is responsible for the Stanley Kubrick Collection t-shirts and he is out for blood.

I'm expecting Criterion to release Jonathan Demme's Citizens Band in the near-ish future now that they've got their cash-cow garbage out of the way. Nothing wrong with that. The Demme film is an Exhibit A, number-one example of the kind of film that is brilliant, horribly undervalued and underrecognized, and won't make them any money ever, that they should be releasing. No? Does anyone else here want this film to be rescued? And while they're at it, they could do Melvin and Howard and maybe a re-do of Something Wild with better special features. They could even throw in Married to the Mob, as the kind of genuine-but-retarded spiritual step-sister to these great films, and that film might actually sell okay or help the others sell better if they were in a set! Great idea Randall Maysin!!
