Sounds like Madonna’s movie about herself isn’t happening. Making a movie about one’s own life, down to not changing names or dates, has always felt like one of those unspoken things you just don’t do.

Universal should’ve taken a quick look at the features she already made and realized that Madonna shouldn’t be helming another film.

I think this project basically went through pre-production twice, it was cast, had core crew locked, and went through many script drafts.

The Last Cattle Drive, AKA Road Show. A Richard Brooks project meant to star Jack Nicholson and Timothy Hutton. When it collapsed, Hutton successfully sued MGM and got a $9 million dollar settlement in 1989. Subsequently developed as a John McTiernan project
