And what spy film would you rather have in the collection, Carl Lee (And I'm asking with perfect sincerity).
The President's Analyst.

The Quiller Memorandum or the Harry Palmer trilogy: The Ipcress File, Funeral in Berlin, and Billion Dollar Brain.

or for real fun: The Spy Who Boned Us or The Spy Who Caught a Cold

This November, while you’re carving turkeys, we’ll be swashing buckles.

Fanfan la Tulipe. Maybe more Christian-Jaque? I've long wanted to see his Disparus de St. Agil.

Somehow, this better mean "we're rolling out the blu-rays!"

Way too easy this month. Rialto released Fanfan two years ago. Here is the image.

Fanfan la Tulipe for sure.

Maybe they will pair withLa Tulipe noire, although I never seen it.

Every month my mind tells me the same thing: "I'll bet these questions are made especially for the folks of the Criterion Forum." Who else would even bother to guess what a sword and tulip could possible mean?

I've never heard of this film, and some quick reading on it explains why.

Is it taboo to discuss trivia questions? Without searching through IMDB for hours, my best guess is John Ford . . .

Gotta be Ford due to the "feature" qualifier, which rules Brakhage out.

It wasn't special at all in my eyes. Somewhat fun, but "Criterion-worthy"? :?

Yeah, Fanfan is predictable - it's a Rialto release, and Bruce Goldstein mentioned at a dinner party earlier this year that it was next in line after Classe Tous Risques, and coming this year.

Not really accurate that it's "next in line" after Classe tous risques since Le doulos is set for October.

On the positive side, members of the Forum will not be spending this Thanksgiving shunning family, friends, and loved ones in an effort to get through a 15 1/2 hour long film.

That's true, I guess they changed the order around. I wish Two or Three Things I Know About Her had gotten fast-tracked instead. Maybe Fanfan will be one of their December "nobody cares" titles.

And don't call me darling....

December is usually a boxset or re-release month. Usually two titles. So maybe the Fullers or The Human Condition set.... or nothing.
