what is ONTD?domino harvey wrote:I'm just periodically refreshing ONTD's post while I do other things. Who even watches the Oscars anymore
it fucking better not. that flick pisses me off the more it wins.domino harvey wrote:Also, man, Precious is gonna pull a Crash, isn't it

Yeah, damn, I thought Up In the Air was a sure a thing as all the acting noms.domino harvey wrote:And the second screenplay award was one big LOL @ all of us, basically
Well, some people on here really liked Juno too, so...Peacock wrote:Inappropriate timing but I presumed Up in the Air would be similar cutesy crap as Juno. Does it receive the board's recommendation I take it?
It's certainly the best film of those nominated for Best Picture and Anna Kendrick was just robbed in addition to the screenplay theft.Peacock wrote:Inappropriate timing but I presumed Up in the Air would be similar cutesy crap as Juno. Does it receive the board's recommendation I take it?
Reviews here were mixed, but it's nothing like Juno.Peacock wrote:Inappropriate timing but I presumed Up in the Air would be similar cutesy crap as Juno. Does it receive the board's recommendation I take it?
Pundits were wavering between the two. No one saw Precious pulling off a win. It virtually guarantees the Best Pic win now, because if it has momentum there, it has it up top. Hell, wait til they break all our minds and give Best Actress to her!Highway 61 wrote:If Hurt Locker could upset Tarantino, I think it can easily shut out Precious. Let's hope anyway.
How did my Aunt Lydia get on the stage?
20 minutes before the first award and 15-20 minutes wasted on each Best Pic nom = 35-40 minutes that could've been spent seeing clips of Bacall, Willis' cinematography, the films Calley greenlit and the actors and directors Roger Corman gave a start to in Hollywood. Nice job eliminating the potential highlights of your show Academy.lacritfan wrote:Meanwhile Roger Corman, Gordon Willis, John Calley and Lauren Bacall already receive their honorary Oscars.
WTF? This already happened? We're gonna have to sit through five more Best Picture clips but miss tributes to these greats?
you knew Kendrick wouldn't win, since she actually showed acting talent instead of over the top melodramatic performing, but the screenplay loss is most alarming. That's a complete abomination really.domino harvey wrote:It's certainly the best film of those nominated for Best Picture and Anna Kendrick was just robbed in addition to the screenplay theft.Peacock wrote:Inappropriate timing but I presumed Up in the Air would be similar cutesy crap as Juno. What the hell was that? At first I was like, was she even involved with that film? The expression on the winner's face seemed to reflect that same question.HistoryProf wrote:Funniest line from another forum after Elinor Burkett bumrushed the stage and pulled a Kanye on that poor black dude:
