Some recent reponses indicate:

- Pygmalion to get an (eventual) remaster. Not soon, however.

- Perhaps The Black Stallion from the MGM deal. (Exact quote: "Nice idea")

- "No Greenaway on the way for the moment."

- Letter from an Unknown Woman - "We're trying"

I thought this was coming soon. Oh well!
Edit: Nevermind

In answer to a question about more Michael Ritchie films, specifically "Smile," CC's answer was:

:)

Why not Cops and Robbersons, or this classic tele movie: The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom (1993) (TV)? Why not throw open the doors of the collection, despite the chaff it lets in?

:) is fine for a cute answer, but if they expand to the rest of his catalogue, the CC will have officially jumped the shark.

Smile and The Candidate would be worthy CC additions. I don't think anyone was asking about a complete works set.

I'm pretty sure they said Smile wasn't coming in a previous posting on Facebook.

More Aki Kaurismaki: "Yes"

Frankly I find Ritchie the good Hal Ashby. More challenging and better in every way. Smile is fantastic -- though admittedly it doesn't end as well as it begins.

The exact same answer I got when I inquired about Forman's "Black Peter" and/or "Taking Off." :-"

I was actually thinking about Kaurismaki the other day. The Man Without a Past is a likelihood for a mainline release, but I keep hoping my favorite, Drifting Clouds, gets it too.

This has to be Taking Off from Universal. Black Peter is readily available on DVD from FACETS. FACETS are even re-releasing Black Peter in January as part of a double feature. Certainly they still seem to have the rights and it would make no sense for them to license the film to Criterion! Taking Off though, has never been released.

Taking Off is great news! I've had a curiosity about the film for some time.

I predict a Leningrad Cowboys Eclipse Set.

I've heard that DVD is pretty crappy, though. :?

Joshua Goldberg brought to justice?
Hello, all. I was JUST about to post my extensive "disturbing films" list (something I'm rather proud of), but I've lost the ability to respond to public postings on fan pages (due to my CONSTANT activity, my account has been flagged as "potentially abusive" by Facebook's robots). So... I don't know how long this wil...l last, but... I'll post my list once I re-gain the ability to comment.

Sorry for any disruptions I may have caused before. I like to joke around with people, but I never had any intentions of being a troll. I often say things I don't really mean, and people will frequently take my sarcastic humor the wrong way. If I have offended you, I apologize.

I'm not a bad person, I swear. I've only committed... like... one murder. And he was asking for it, so it doesn't count. Forgive me?

The guy simply needs to ease up. "Overbearing" seems to me to be the apt word.

It's pretty poor, with non-removeable (on the film) subs.

What the heck is this suppose to mean?

Criterion : Don't mean to be evasive, Ian, but we don't have any concrete news or info about those pictures.

The titles I asked about were: Errol Morris films, The Uninvited, Don't Look Now.

I asked about Chen Kaige, specifically "Yellow Earth" and got this:
So far only hope.
I would imagine there will be no release of his for a very long time.

If with The Uninvited they mean the Ray Milland Uni horror, then hopefully this come through ok eventually, same with the Roeg. In fact, I'm surprised it's taking them that long to get to it, unless Paramount are reluctant to let it go.

Crista Fuller stated on Facebook that Park Row and another Sam Fuller film are "awaiting top notch treatment".

I think Paramount long ago let it go in the MCA deal. UNINVITED on VHS was a Uni release.

Jesus Christ..that Goldberg dude is back with a vengeance. is he one of the social misfits from Cinemania or something? he's got some serious issues. There needs to be a way to ban people on facebook....or at the least ignore them when they overwhelm other pages.

I hope he isn't reading this, because he will make a post on Facebook saying:
Cinemania is OOP, Criterion release it on blu now! :D

no no no...he doesn't have a blu ray player yet....so he gets upset at suggestions that they do MORE blu and spend more time upgrading older releases.

I really think he just spends endless hours scouring the deepest recesses of IMDB and when he fines something obscure that's never been released he runs to fb to post it as a suggestion so people will think he's super cool for knowing so much about film.

Maybe we should start a "STOP JOSHUA GOLDBERG!" Facebook group!
