Maybe a big set is coming in April, hence the lack of interesting titles.

I'm still wondering if they are putting the early shorter Chaplins in a set (prob would have to). That would be a set that could come in April and hold off the Chaplin lovers from crying about the months that has passed without a release.

Early Chaplin set and The Game could be April releases, with maybe one more new title and 1-2 re-releases (Tokyo Story being one).

This is exciting news! I really hope they stick with the poster artwork scheme rather than the lame package they used for the Euro release. This one is the one I'm hoping for:

Granted that the covers and package design is fine as it is, it is still slightly disappointing that they didn't change anything at all between the DVD and Bluray (unless you count changing the size as something).

To be fair, these are straight upgrades of wacky C clear case releases, one of which was even a one-disc release. There's really no need to change anything, and I'm sure it would result in more complaints than compliments if something like the gorgeous Robinson Crusoe on Mars package art were messed with.

True, but it would have made the pain of buying them again a little less so. They could've at least reversed the disc art and back-of-case art for something different.

What's the pain in selling the DVD for about 70-90% of what the Blu-ray is worth and then buying the Blu-ray? Criterions are the most painless Blu-ray upgrades out there.

Nice, let`s hope the blu-ray will be a Night Of The Hunter-like digipack as well.

I don't think I have any digipacks with dents or smashed corners. Does your mailman have to go through a war zone to get to your house?

Does anybody know if the Last Year at Marienbad blu packaging is new style or old style if you buy it from amazon? Is there any other site where people have bought this title and had it come with the new packaging? If so, did you pay more than $5 more than you would have from amazon?

I've already replaced all my old BD cases, and I don't want to pay $5 just for one new one.

I've been reading around on this thread, and I couldn't find an answer, or even anybody asking this question about Marienbad, from the last six months. Apologies if this is something that has already been dealt with recently. I looked, but did not find.

Thanks!

Speaking of these cardboard cases, I just completed replacing all of my cases and am wondering if these are of any value to anyone? I remember seeing someone selling them on Ebay a few months ago but, I'm not sure if it had any bids. Someone out there has to like these, right?

Criterion linked this Sam Smith post with some design mockups he made for his favorite movies this past year- to me, some of them are excellent (The Illusionist, Bluebeard, Winter's Bone) and some are so hastily put together that they seem like a professional graphic designer would be ashamed to have them on his site (Dogtooth in particular). Of course, that seems to be the forum's take on Smith in general.

I sold six cases - including The Third Man and The Man Who Fell to Earth - for over $80. I was shocked that it made it that high as I had started the listing at $10. I was clear that they were empty and without booklets, and yet I still had a lot of bids and no complaints.

If I had the energy I could photoshop Winter's Bone on the Premonition poster too.
