Right, thanks. The phrasing they sent out is, "video directed by Takashi Ito from his award-winning experimental short Zone." So I guess he did the repurposing?

People are enjoying Vania Heymann & Gal Muggia's video for Sabrina Carpenter's
"Manchild," and there's a lot of fun in there, but not near as much fun as there was in their video from last year for A$AP Rocky's
"Tailor Swif."

It's also new to the channel this month along with Cunningham's
All Is Full Of Love, could Criterion be branching out into music videos? Would be nice if the Beastie Boy collection wasn't a one-off, maybe upgrading the Palm Pictures artist collections would be a nice start.

Most of the videos on those Palm Pictures collections were probably only finished in SD, so it would be a massive project to go back and try to upgrade them to contemporary standards. The version of "All Is Full of Love" on the Channel is in SD, and I wouldn't be surprised if its visual effects are only up to SD standards.

YouTube’s ability to randomly recommend me banger music videos from well over a decade ago continues its hot streak with
Cinnamon Chasers “Luv Deluxe” (NSFW). You could summarize this one as “Actually, I can’t fix her”

Ninajirachi “Infohazard” Of a piece with the nostalgic Geocities fetishization of Magdalena Bay but more informed by experimental film methodology, this is a surprisingly effective negative budget music video. The use of flashing imagery turns much of this into a work of animation, and I loved the simplicity of inspiration in how the on screen lyrics are displayed. 100% don’t watch this if you have any epilepsy probs (and also, you might now)

What psychopath decided to give this the HD treatment? It is one of the worst covers of all time and, and on the embarrassment scale, the dancing is not far off Elaine's dance in Seinfeld.

One of the best new music videos I've seen in a while is Rosalia's 'Berghain':

At the other end of the scale, I also like the basic-as-fuck single shot video for Sleaford Mods' 'The Good Life':

She's doing
a concept album that ties into the Emerald Fennell adaptation, apparently. Good for her for doing something completely different after
Brat, because really, how can you follow up a phenomenon like that with more of the same?

I guess there’s a good chance everyone here has already seen this given it has 300 million views and is well over a decade old, but the YouTube algorithm recommended me the video for
alt-J’s “Breezeblocks” and I think it’s a deceptively simple structural idea that on rewatch shows how impressively the backwards action skillfully functions as misdirection for what’s going on. Also a great ploy for getting views since you’re just about guaranteed to have every viewer want to watch it again to see it play out differently
