If this is the replacement for a New Year’s clue after Polan’s death, 2020 really will have been the worst year ever.

Last year's clue prompted me to hastily sell off my WKW collection, so I don't know that I'll miss it

There's no indication we're getting a clue this year, which is really sad considering it's the best thing about January

I've said it before, but waking up on New Year's Day and dissecting the drawing has been my version of Christmas as an adult. I understand the desire to not 'replace' Polan, but sometimes the best way to affirm someone's creative importance is in perpetuating their ritual as a legacy in passing the baton rather than stopping it altogether.

From this month's slate on the Channel, Coup de torchon and all 10 of the Vittorio De Seta documentary shorts open up with the CC and Janus logos.

Jason Polan was Santa Claus confirmed. Trump was right, Biden canceled Christmas

Don’t you know Santa Clause rules? That means Biden is now Santa.

There should be a support thread on here for all of us who did this.

OTOH feels like there's a whole thread dedicated to making me feel good about holding on to my old Kino DVD box. Thanks, guys!

Now's the perfect time to text her and ask for your Blu-Ray back! What could go wrong?

I know it's a bit late for this reply, but the German bluray of Happy-Go-Lucky looks excellent.
I agree that a special edition (ideally with commentary) would be very welcome.

I want Vera Drake first, though. ⭐

Happy-Go-Lucky was actually issued on a region-free Blu-Ray in Germany, and Amazon.de has it brand-new for 9 euros (with used copies going as low as 5 euros) . I have no idea what the quality is like though. I myself would like to see it on a U.S. Blu-Ray with solid extras - one of my favorite films from that year.

I'm going to put one foot over the line by posting this here because I think CC will eventually release this.... I am currently watching on a cable channel called Movies!, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. How many cuts and versions of this film are there? Has there ever been a definitive Peckinpah version?
