They are but I wonder how many more Tarr's they can release for such a small label. Can they do his entire filmography?

I went through the phantom pages. It was fun looking at all the guesses. I made a list of the Studio System Directors from the Golden Age of Hollywood only (everything else would be too daunting). The director would've had to make his first film no later than 1949 to make the list. The phantom pages started in August of 2012 (where the hell did the time go). The order is from when they first appeared as phantom pages. The release dates are in parentheses
Frank Borzage- Moonrise (5/18), History is Made at Night (4/21)
Frank Capra- It happened One Night (11/14)
Howard Hawks- Red River (5/14), Only Angels Have Wings (4/16), His Girl Friday (1/17)
Frank Lloyd- ?
Andre De Toth- ?
Charles Vidor - Gilda (1/16)
Robert Rossen- ?
Ralph Thomas- ?
Robert Stevenson- ?
Compton Bennett- ?
Delmer Daves- 3:10 to Yuma (5/13), Jubal (5/13)
Edward Dmytryk- ?
Arthur Rosson- ?
Roubin Mamoulian- ?
Edmund Goulding- Nightmare Alley (5/21)
Stephen Roberts- The Story of Temple Drake (12/19)
Henry King- The Gunfighter (10/20)
Henry Hathaway- ?
Joseph Losey- ?
Michael Curtiz- Mildred Pierce (2/17), The Breaking Point (8/17)
Lewis Milestone-?
William Wyler- The Heiress (5/19)
Howard Hughes- ?
Jack Arnold- ?
George Marshall- Destry Rides Again (4/20)
Tod Browning- ?
Raoul Walsh- ?
Irving Rapper- Now, Voyager (11/19)
George Sidney- ?
James Whale- Show Boat (3/20)
George Stevens- Woman of the Year (4/17), Swingtime (6/19)
John Sturges- The Great Escape (5/20)
The final phantom page for the directors on this list ended in January 2017.
George Cukor, Jacques Tourneur, Edgar Ulmer and Dorothy Arzner never had a phantom pages but have had since.

Robert Rossen's phantom page eventually materialized in a mock up page for an Alexander release, which not only never happened but was never gonna happen. I think we generally decided that it was the result of an intern learning how to make a release page, and it disappeared once we pointed it out

Eh, Locke is a poor choice for Criterion.

Why is that? I always prefer they release titles that aren't available anywhere but if they are gonna do an English film from the last decade that deserves a bigger audience I can think of few better.

There's nothing in the tweet that implies it's coming from Criterion, is there? I think Clarke is simply obsessed with the movie and at this point bringing it up has become a recurring joke for him.

Hardly a strong confirmation but I think it's this exchange that implies a release:
Nayman: I want to write the booklet essay
Clark: I think someone else might have dibs on that mate.

Mostly because it already has a decent blu-ray from Lionsgate.

This is just a recurring joke with Clarke. His love for the movie was a running gag on the Film Comment podcast. As soon as his position was announced
people joked about it (literally just searched for "Locke Criterion Edition when").

Listening to Lee Kline's podcast and in the 2nd episode he mentions he was checking out a new scan of Blast of Silence, so that will probably be upgraded sometime this year.

Oh damn, new restorations? I wonder from where. I love three of the four to bits, but they’d have to be a pretty big revelation to justify a double dip on my Potemkine set.
