Orion isn't an entity anymore. Most of their films are owned by MGM, which MBL is. TAT is owned by Warner.
Sigh, it appears Warner Bros. also owns all of my hopes and dreams.

That's rather clever. Wrong, but clever nonetheless.

Can we pull this one out again? It's 14 months old at this point. Is there anything released in the past year that this could apply to, or are we all still thinking Midnight Cowboy?

That's gotta be it. I believe that clue came out in November 2013, and Il Sorpasso was announced in January. No way we're still waiting on Midnight Cowboy after all this time, and the MGM Blu-Ray is still in print.

I was also trying to figure out how it would work for Dreyer.

How long did it take for Grey Gardens to finally show up on Blu-ray after the clue? I remember it was a long-friggin-time.

I think it was exactly a year.

It was close to two years. Newsletter clue was on 1/19/12, and the Blu-ray came out on 12/10/13 (formally announced 9/16/13).

No, I remember before the hint was released Kim Hendrickson said that a John Schlesinger film was coming and it wasn't "Darling"

It was more than 2 years ago, when Kim Hendrickson said that they did not have Darling. I recently asked TT about Darling. In reply, they said that it has recently been picked up by another company before they could do something about it. It is possible that Criterion has finally picked it up.

Does anyone know of the state-side status of "Darling?" StudioCannal is working on the anniversary-release sometime this year for the UK, but there's no indication about the R1 release to my knowledge.

Redman (TT) totld me that it's coming soon in USA. So, either it's coming from Criterion or from Lionsgate. Hopefully, it will happen in 2015.

Orion films from early in their run are with WB as they were the financing. After that early period (Caddyshack, Time After Time, etc) they went independent and those films are now under the MGM umbrella.

Malick must really be delivering the goods on this one. I expect a director's cut.
