Clearly they knew we all needed to see a parody of Harvey Weinstein in the most pristine format before anything else

I’m shocked that it isn’t coming from the studio itself. The film has surprisingly remained well-entrenched in the memories of a lot of mainstream filmgoers, it’s certainly a million times more relevant than Hannibal

Most studios won't touch blackface anymore even as obvious satire/parody.

This does reveal that DreamWorks films are part of this deal, so some hope for a US BD release of Match Point, which Paramount likely won't release themselves either.

I'm glad Match Point is available overseas - I found one pressing for a little over $10 after shipping from a reputable retailer, and even for an old Blu-ray master I thought the picture quality held up pretty well. (The film too - I think it holds up as one of his very best works, not to mention his most chilling and disturbing film.)

Since the new deal with Paramount includes three films from 2000-2010, I'd like to think Kino got Zodiac, both cuts, for a UHD release with HDR/Dolby Vision. Paramount never knew what to do with the film and it flopped, so this may be one they'd be willing to part with.

I hope most of the 60s films are from Jerry Lewis. And some of the 50s ones.

There’s a great triple bill Spanish blu pairing Match Point with (the superior) Cassandra’s Dream and Scoop, which I believe I got for quite cheap during the pandemic, upticked shipping prices and all. Worth looking into for those who don’t have it yet

Possibly, but it might be more likely to be a Paramount Presents title

I’m thinking The Day of the Locust is in there, as they’d also licensed it to Imprint. Maybe Nobody’s Fool as well

"A Place in the Sun," without the hassle of the production code - what's not to love!?

Very welcome addition.

I watched the director’s cut of Alien (1979) for the first time on Friday and the very famous deleted scene where:
Spoiler
Captain Dallas and Brett were cocooned
gave inspiration for similar films. Fortunately didn’t order any other edition of Leviathan (every format appears OOP or rare at least), this will do just fine. 🤗

During the Boxer Rebellion, Dr. Fu Manchu, deviously played by Warner Oland (Charlie Chan in Paris), saves the life of little Lia Eltham; but soon after, his own wife and child are killed by the allied troops. He takes revenge by hypnotizing the now grown Lia, played by screen great Jean Arthur (A Foreign Affair), to do his evil bidding. The world’s most notorious supervillain is born in this Pre-Code chiller from director Rowland V. Lee (Tower of London). Co-starring Neil Hamilton (Commissioner Gordon of TV’s Batman) as Dr. Jack Petrie and O.P. Heggie (The Bride of Frankenstein) as Inspector Nayland Smith.

THE RETURN OF DR. FU MANCHU (1930) B&W 73 Minutes 1.20:1 Not Rated
The fiendish Dr. Fu is back with a vengeance in The Return of Dr. Fu Manchu, as the evil criminal genius continues his campaign of cruelty on the foggy moors of the English estate where Lia Eltham and Dr. Jack Petrie are set to marry. Director Rowland V. Lee (Son of Frankenstein) returns along with Warner Oland (Charlie Chan’s Secret), Jean Arthur (Easy Living), O.P. Heggie (The Count of Monte Cristo) and Neil Hamilton (Tarzan the Ape Man) for this sequel that’s more menacing, more exciting and more bloodcurdling than the first.

I just got my Killer’s Kiss UHD and I’m having an issue with flickering on my Sony 4K player. I’ve only been able to remove the issue if I disable HDR completely on my player. Has anyone received their discs or is this only with mine and this player? It’s not on every scene, only on some shots, but enough to render it unwatchable due to the strobing. It’s usually during those scenes with lower light levels. This is my third black and white UHD and haven’t encountered this issue before. I updated my firmware and have done all sorts of changes to see if it fixed it, but it seems to be disc specific.

To our point in the Imprint thread about the monetary value of the film, I’d say $7.99 in a future sale is about right. Now license Suzy Wong so I don’t have to pay 8x that for a two pack I don’t want
