That is exactly what I was saying, it's a Tokyo-Ga wasn't its own separate spine number. I am well aware of the Late Spring / Tokyo-Ga release. I'm sure we will see some more Wenders releases in the new year given their push of this current theatrical retrospective. Fingers crossed that we'll see more non-fiction Wenders enter the collection.

Criterion just posted a
video essay from Film Comment about The Man Who Fell to Earth. Wasn't there some talk about this coming back at some point?

It's an ideal time for a re-release, since Bowie has turned it into a musical scheduled at the New York Theater Workshop this season, in November and December. It's called Lazarus and is billed as "inspired by The Man Who Fell to Earth."

If by talk you mean mostly baseless speculation, then yes.

I'm always happy to add a few drops of fuel to the wheezing embers of baseless speculation.

There was a Janus logo at the beginning of Bulldog Drummond In Africa that showed on TCM this morning. Perhaps an indication for a forthcoming box set.

Fay Holden has a phantom page, and she was in Bulldog Drummond Escapes.

The Bulldog Drummond films are being shown each week. Will be interesting to see if the other films also have the Janus logo on them.

They're all up on Criterion's Hulu channel. There's no question whether they have the rights.

I caught a Bulldog Drummond day on TCM a few months ago, and absolutely fell in love with the series. They're all just a lot of fun, extremely fast paced and the roster of revolving characters work superb (even the too drunk to act Barrymore does pretty well). The print quality on some left alot to be desired - and I'm sure it will take some levels of
The Man Who Knew too Much print finding /restoring to bring these up to speed.
I can't imagine them dumping these in Eclipse, especially since they are PD and have been released on DVD a million times (so what would be the point?).
The Bulldog Drummond series also includes several not already on Hulu. Would they start with
The Return of Bulldog Drummond or license
Bulldog Drummond (1929) from MGM? Might they include the 40s/50s/60s films? When else would those films ever get a release? Radio episodes? How about the
parody produced by Handmade Films? There's no shortage of possibilities.

It's clearly a hint for Ishtar. After all, it's set in the desert.

Gianni Puccini

The
Bitter Rice clue was from way back in 2011. If they throw in The Kid, Wim Wenders Road Movies, and A Brighter Summer Day, we could have a straight flush of wacky New Year's clues.

Criterion just updated more of their people pages to include more Lady Snowblood. I would presume the announcements to be incoming shortly

Yup. They decided to hang up the boots. 2015 is their last year. It's off into the sunset for them now.
Or, you know, they work on their own schedule and not yours.
