Even lists Blu-ray as an available format - are they referring to the Second Run region-free BD or does that usually indicate Criterion's plans for a BD release?

That’s just a format for theatrical screenings — it’s not *necessarily* indicative of a Criterion disc. (But it’s also not a bad sign.)

Jordan's MONA LISA ran on TCM with Criterion and Janus logos -- and it looked cleaned up a good deal. Hoping for a Blu-Ray upgrade.

Included in Lincoln Center's summer programming announcement is that Janus will be releasing William Klein's Muhammad Ali, the Greatest.

I think that was just a reference to Tarantino buying the Vista.

Also Powell's Bluebeard’s Castle restored by BFI and The Film Foundation. I've only seen this on YouTube in terrible quality. Hopefully it will appear in a future World Cinema Project box.

It's not part of the World Cinema Project; it's more likely to appear as an extra on another Powell release, given its length.

Janus 4K restoration of Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s Cure, surely with a disc to follow next year.

Fantastic news! One of those rare films I find more frightening each time I see it. The first Kurosawa I saw and probably still my favorite.

There was a New Years Wacky Drawing a number of years ago that had an X in the cartoon that some guessed it was for Cure

It was on Hulu with Janus bumpers that far back, iirc, so it’s been a very long time coming. But this is a newer restoration than Eureka released, right? I don’t recall that release ever being touted as 4K, or even a new restoration at all, really…

The MoC release was an older HD master and frankly it showed. Very excited to see an improved transfer, especially on UHD.

There's been a Japanese release with the new 4K restoration since the MoC blu-ray. Not sure about the French release. Anyways a Criterion Cure would be most welcome.

Thank god! I really hope fans of Memories of Murder check this out. I thought the MoC was quite good despite the subtitle flub in the beginning but given how that looked (let alone the HVE dvd) I knew it'd need a restoration. I'm really glad it's getting that theatrical rerelease because just the sound design makes it so incredible also Koji in one of my favorite performances ever.
