You are not alone. I am excited as well!

Will Ferrel comedies can be really hit and miss and feel his best films are the ones he does with ex-SNL buddy Adam McKay (I have no problem saying Step Brothers was one of my favorite movies of the last ten years), but the trailer has my expectations set pretty high.

I would agree with you (McKay has some serious talent) but I found Step Brothers deplorable and it just went further than I am willing to go. It just seemed morally gross and hateful for me. Anchorman on the other hand remains the only comedy in the classic mold to hit it's mark since the Mel Brooks heyday.

I know I'm late to comment on this but when it played before Certified Copy all I could think of was how Gerard Depardieu looks like he ate several Gerard Depardieu's. He's an inflated ball with a smaller ball glued up top.

He's enormous. It was alarming. Like an igloo with a French guy's head stuck on top. The movie is lots of lightweight fun though, and Deneuve is great.

A trailer/music video for This Must Be The Place.

Sean Penn channeling Robert Smith! The film looks interesting. There is no release date yet as the film is still looking for US distribution. If the reviews are any good, I'm sure it will be snatched up at Cannes pretty quick.

I still can't tell if I'm more excited for this or Casa De Mi Padre. They both look badass!

This might cheer you up then. I must have re-watched it 4-5 times, made me laugh every one.

Goddamn that Straw Dogs trailer is awful. Fuck me. Fuck. Goddammit. I had forgotten about the remake and I guess subconsciously I hoped that me forgetting it would = it not existing.

It will be interesting how the film version of The Trip plays in comparison to the six half hour episodes. The episodes were quite repetitive in structure and content, but in a very enjoyable way! Editing down into a two hour feature might tighten things up but also might lose that sense of "another day, another restaurant, another awkward, faltering long distance telephone call to American girlfriend in a gorgeous landscape to close things out" repitition.

But it is very good - kind of a middle class Old Joy except featuring British comedians trying to upstage each other with impression schtick and without a homoerotic bathhouse scene at the end (or the dog).

It basically gives the whole plot away. Not that that's all so surprising, considering most trailers these days, but jeez.

Considering the film is being released by Screen Gems, this doesn't come as a surprise. Also, any trailer that has to use that fluttering lense edit (like at the point when Bosworth calls Marsden a coward) doesn't bode well.

Jeff Nichols' (Shotgun Stories) Take Shelter

Teaser for the new Muppets movie. Not really a fan of Jason Segal, but I'll give this the benefit of the doubt.

Not out of nowhere to those who remember it by its working title, I'm With Cancer-- it's been a hot script for a while now
