I didn't put together the literal pun of Tie-Pay Story until after I posted Greed. I just assumed someone was guessing Taipei Story because they've seen it and it's about an Expensive book, so I thought initially it was a guess from story context rather than a simple decode. I felt plenty stupid when I thought about for a minute.
In any event, I think it is clear the clue is actually for Midnight Cowboy.
