Spotted this on the Kaiju Shakedown blog: a Chinese message board with its users creating a huge number of fake Criterion covers (involving Asian titles). The message board is in Chinese, but the covers use the English titles.

Nice find JH.
If you go to the bottom of that very long thread most (all?) of the covers in the thread are there in thumbnail size, making it much easier and faster to view them.

I liked this classical one:

Not really sure what's going on here, but I like it (and a film that Criterion should try to acquire):

This has potential, but that color combo hurts my eyes:

When will someone post the first Isis Litigation-licensed "special edition" cover?

The scythe in Death's hand can be replaced by a fine leather attaché filed with garnishment documents.

A Inside Look. At a apple and a orange.

And an melons.

(and anyway, that edition is old news. Can't you tell how long it's been on the shelves by the presence of the pre-wacky C logo?)

Minus the eye and it'd be great.

Kind of looks like Deneuve fell out of Overlord's eye:

I think a typeface other than Trebuchet MS would be better suited for the film. But I love the image you've chosen.

I really wish Criterion had the rights to this.

I really like this cover, but the black coloring of the wacky C and CC bar doesn't fit with the coloring of the artwork..

I don't think you need the reflection of "Mirror." It's a bit too obvious.

And I like the grid layout in theory, but I'm not sure how it meshes with Mirror. Though, it's been a long time since I've last seen it, and as I've said elsewhere, I fell asleep during it when I had the opportunity to see it on the big screen.

Oh how beautiful that is. I've lusted after that poster for forever. I so wish that Warner's would just let Criterion put it out, since they seem to have no intention of doing the film justice. Fat chance.
