I save the director-approved stickers, anyway.

Someone from Criterion Now got a confirmation email about the spine number and branding. They will be present on the side not shown in the press release.

Also it will be the long version of Tokyo Olympiad.

Ha, all joking aside. Sometimes the security sticker is the last resort for me to determine authenticity of a disc. I've seen unopened copies of Hardboiled where the security sticker is the only detail bootleggers can't get right (without opening the case of course). Most of the time there are many other clues, but that sticker is a significant tell-tale sign of the real deal.

I should back up cpetrizzi and admit that I saved the security stickers inside the disc box in the same way! (But it was only with the Criterions! And I don't think there have been such named security stickers on DVDs or Blu-rays for a few years now anyway)

To maintain consistency, I've been manufacturing my own ever since.

I can't believe Olympia I and II is finally coming out on blu ray. That set is sadly too rich for my blood

I wonder what version will it be. Like is it an HD version of their laserdisc release? Is it a new version? I would hope it's not a censored release in any shape or form.

Runtimes have been added to the release's page on the Criterion website.

It's actually pretty thoughtful of Criterion, IMO - even with all this lead time I highly doubt that any outlets will be able to actually review all the content in time anyway.

And still no sign of the wacky C in the beav’s photos (unless I’m blind).

I know that IMDB is probably not the most accurate, but its odd that there's a few really different runtimes between IMDB and Criterion's listings, here's a few I found:

I doubt they're being thoughtful nor it is a wish to give reviewers a break.

If check discs are available, it means all the authorings and encodes are already performed, so the release is basically good to go on this stage at least. Except if the packaging production has a 2 month lead time, they could basically release this in 3 weeks but nope, it's an early december one. Hence my surprise because it's a much bigger advance than usual (check discs are usually available 2 to 4 weeks before release date).

It would not surprise me if the packaging of this release necessitates a substantially longer distribution/physical production process than a regular release.

Maybe they want to skip over the initial flash sale & B&N sale!

Have the audio specs for each film been released yet?
