Just for Margaret? Then you really are favoring it. I do recall reading it was eligible even though I had no interest in voting for it (I found it weaker than You Can Count On Me, though I found it better than Manchester By The Sea which seems to be everyone's favorite, so what do I know). I think swo has probably done enough. I think you are opening a can of worms & everyone will want to reassess for other films (and for previous year's lists).

So it's not an undue burden on swo, how about we just leave it that people are free to continuously update their charts (including for previous years as they watch more films and have a record for the next time around), but that once swo's deadline has passed he can update a previous list as he sees fit? It would also allow people who have missed earlier years work on something they may have missed and be ready for it the next time around.

I think it makes sense, given the confusion around this film's release date. I don't see this as in any way opening up other revision possibilities. But ultimately it's the decade list that matters, right?

Maybe 95% of films have no controversy about their release year. Most of the rest are only going to vary by a year depending on the source. Since I'm making judgment calls on all of those so that we can all be working from a single eligibility list, I also like to take the opportunity to "reclaim" films that were delayed against their director's wishes to what is arguably a more appropriate year assignment. This applies to <0.1% of films, with Margaret being one of them. I think if I hadn't said anything about it all month, many people wouldn't have thought to vote for it, since it wasn't widely available to watch until 2012 and no movie database but mine places it in the prior decade

swo made it clear Margaret was eligible for this list. I just admittedly missed the announcement because I was on vacation for a chunk of August. I did my list remotely, and only went by my own records, with Margaret as 2011. Anyway I am fan of the film; I would have ranked it somewhere in my top 10, which would have bumped it from #6 to #5, maybe even #4. If both scotty2 and I had voted for it, Margaret could have even landed as high as #2 depending on our exact placements. However, I think it's too late now to go back, edit lists, and publish new results. I appreciate the offer, swo, but you do enough already (thank you as always!). The main takeaway is Margaret was eligible for this, and is eligible for the decade list. From there, we'll see if it advances to the All-Time round with two Top 10 placements. As for me, I will certainly consider it for my decade list, although I doubt I would rank it in my top 10, so it'll need help from two others to advance to the next round (which I think it has good chances).
