all 4 spines? are there spine shots yet? i am going to assume you are talking about the covers, in which case you are glacially slow.

Is anyone a little bit pissed off about the fact that on every new CC disc is a giant Wacky C? Good god, every digipak is like a fucking BMW. Though, after getting a bunch of new-design CCs in the mail, I am liking the new design more and more.

I was a bit disappointed when I received my Viridiana dvd the other day. I opened up the case and saw that famous picture of her holding the candlestick. It looked almost like the old Viridiana original artwork. The reason i was disappointed was because the opportunity to make an awesome joke was lost. I would have given anything to see the pink artwork inside as the booklet cover.

Yeah, as if the packaging didn't call enough attention to itself the actual dvds have to be Cs as well. At least on some titles it isn't noticeable-- like Veronique. Though Seven Samurai looks bad. Not a big deal but this is the nit-picking thread.

Inspired artwork, one of their bests. Quite like the serious black for the wacky C.

I like the shadowed swastika in the background (and not what it stands for).

I'm indifferent to the cover art, but I had no Idea this film had something to do with Nazi's. I'm intrigued.

Whoo! I must say, that was completely unexpected, but very nice. Is the Monterey set the only other title in which the title so completely dominated the design?

Great artwork. As soon as I saw it, I started thinking of those stunning opening aerial shots (and, for that matter, Anton Walbrook in dungarees).

I'm really almost overwhelmed by how appealing this artwork is to me, whereas the film description left me relatively ambivalent. Obviously I'll need to look into this a little more (and engage in the obligatory "how do people like this one?" on another thread), but the artwork has brought the package as a whole back to being on my radar.

I must also voice my appreciation of this artwork, not only because the design is really top notch, but also because it prominently displays both my home provinces (Manitoba and Alberta).

If we can't have much Canadian representation in the collection, at least we can appear on cover art.

The artwork is okay. Even though this is my least favorite P&P film (the propaganda has always seemed too heavy handed compared to their other war time films like One Of Our Aircraft Is Missing, A Matter of Life & Death, Col. Blimp or Canterbury Tale), I'll probably buy this anyways. I can't resist Powell & Pressburger.

That's a dynamite cover. I don't normally think I'm so shallow, but that cover art probably just vaulted The 49th Parallel from netflix rental to purchase.

I really like the overall look of the cover, but whenever I look at the Wacky C I just can't shake the feeling that pacman is about to launch a sneak attack on Canada by gobbling up all our islands in the arctic circle before he makes his way into the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and finally preys upon the poor people of Nunavut. At least lay off Nunavut. Those people were just given their own territory and now they have to worry about a pacman terrorist attack. It's just not right.

Besides, it can't be in collusion with fascists. Mussolini, you'll recall, actually invaded Ethiopia, whereas Matt notes that criterion has shown no interest in Africa at all!

The size of the title on the cover reminds me of The Onion's "WA- (headline continued on page 4)" headline from Our Dumb Century.
