Is there any way in hell we could finally get
The 10th Victim? I’d love any other Petri, to be honest.
88 Films released it already, but yes it is due a new edition at some point (it's Petri so I'm sure it's on Radiance's radar).

Shameless, not 88 Films, I believe. And thankfully, that release seems OOP now. The film is in dire need of new restoration and such from a better label.

A tidbit from the Discord: "next year is very Italian and Japanese with sprinklings of others English and non-English language titles."
I imagine the Italian portion will consist partially of further volumes of Commedia all'italiana boxed sets (fingers crossed for Germi!), but also more releases dedicated to crime and horror films. I imagine if the next World Noir boxed set focuses on the 60s, there's plenty of obscure oddities to pick from for an Italian entry.
As for Japan, I expect they're going to go all-in on Toei films. I'd also like to see them cover the odd corners of respected auteurs' filmographies, and maybe crack open a few Art Theatre Guild projects.

How about a few ATG boxes

I'd be fine with that!

all I request is at least some Japanese films without bloodshed or guns/swords/etc. it gets tiring seeing these being the only Japanese films released nowadays, the forthcoming BFI Ozu BDs and occasional Criterion surprise notwithstanding. but I know this is incredibly wishful thinking...
Comedia alla'italiana gives me some hope Fran will go beyond this, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I totally understand the genre films sell, but they shouldn't be the sole representation of Japanese films getting released nowadays. Radiance has sold very well regardless of what the film is, so I hope we see some diversity in the Japanese selections. yakuza, samurai, and kaiju films are well covered ground

I’d love to see Nagisa Oshima that Janus doesn’t appear to control, like The Catch and Band of Ninja
Shuji Terayama would be a dream, but I’m not holding my breath

Ann Hui's Visible Secrets, Ricardo Freda's The Horrible Dr. Hichcock (two disc limited edition), and a mystery Italian gothic horror film from a new, also mysterious, partner label are all on up for October.

Worth mentioning that Visible Secret will be a LE only.
Single Pressing: Unlike our limited editions a single pressing will not be re-issued as a standard edition, this is the only pressing made and will be deleted once sold out. Single pressing releases are made available under special circumstances of our license agreements.

I wonder what the mystery title from the mystery label will be. Being an Italian gothic horror title, there's much of the 60s and early 70s to choose from, but I would hope for Margheriti's Castle of Blood, Freda's The Ghost (whose announcement in conjunction with Horrible Dr Hichcock would make sense), or Ferroni's Night of the Devils.

It’s a 1972 film, per the listing. A flick through my Aurum Film Encyclopedia of Horror suggests it’s Giorgio Ferroni’s NIGHT OF THE DEVILS.

D'oh! I suppose I should learn how to read. Great (probably) news, in any case, getting two of my four most sought-after Italian gothics announced on one day.

If that’s true then hopefully that means some of their OOP Blu titles will be rereleased…

From their newsletter...
We are delighted to announce a multi-title, multi-year agreement with Raro Video to represent the label in the UK with a range of titles commencing in October 2023.
Each new Raro Video release will be created in collaboration with Radiance and include newly designed artwork, newly encoded masters and include legacy and newly created extras.
The first title released by the label will be Giorgio Ferroni’s macabre masterwork The Night of the Devils starring genre icon Gianni Garko. The release includes a High-Definition digital transfer from the original camera negative and is presented in English and Italian with optional subtitles. Additionally, there are archival interviews with cast and crew, translated in English for the first time pus a new audio commentary by horror experts Alan Jones and Kim Newman, a booklet by Rachael Nisbet and more.
Rarovideo is the editorial division of Minerva Pictures, founded by Gianluca and Stefano Curti in December 1999, dedicated to the distribution of moving images of high and recognized artistic value, according to an interdisciplinary approach that combines product quality and editorial care. The brand has gained, in a very short time, a wide range of fans and the affection of critics, coming to be defined, in the New York Times, "The finest European film boutique".
Raro Video releases will be sold and marketed by Radiance Films in the UK and more information can be found at
www.radiancefilms.co.uk
The Night of the Devils is released in the UK October 23rd.
Sounds like Radiance is working directly with them as far as QC, so that's pretty swell.

It's interesting that it's going to be a new disc (since there'll be new extras), but yeah, I'm not particularly excited by a partnership with a label which mostly relied on old dated italian masters filled with scanner noise (and which recent activity isn't particularly much - though they seemed to have retrieved a certain pace, which, ironically, includes a re-release of Milano Caliber 9 with a 4K restoration more recent than what Arrow released in 2015).
It's also a strange choice to start with a 10 years old disc, for a movie that I don't believe received a recent remaster and whose 2013 release was already looking dated.

Other than VCI, they could NOT have picked a worse label to collaborate with. New encodes of ancient and unwatchable transfers will only amount to the proverbial turd polishing. Time to cancel my pre-order.

Assuming, optimistically, that Radiance will deliver quality encodes of dated remasters of Raro properties, making something solid of what in other hands could be very poor, as Indicator did with some of the Sony properties which hadn't all benefited new restorations.

re: wishlist, dunno how accessible Brazil's film archives are these days, let alone the existence of HD masters, but I'd love someone to rescue Walter Hugo Khouri and Carlos Reichenbacher's films from the backchannel dungeons and shoddy VHS rip hinterlands. Recently watched Khouri's striking lesbian gothic horror anti-colonialism allegory As Filhas do Fogo (Daughters of Fire) (1978) and think it'd make a splendid addition to any cult film imprint's catalogue.
