Heard JAY KELLY is coming. The agreement was made when there was still buzz around it—would guess it gets officially announced early next year.

I liked Jay Kelly a lot but that would be pretty ridiculous if Meyerowitz Stories didn’t get released with it. I’d say White Noise too but it seems Baumbach wants us or himself to forget about it, which is too bad because we played part of the ending at our wedding.

Jay Kelly is legitimately great, as is White Noise. It does feel like Netflix reeled back the licensing for a minute there so maybe JK is just a return to Baumbach/Netflix for them and hopefully they catch back up with his other two.

I was a big fan of both Sandler/Baumbach films. This will be very welcome especially with a Meyerowitz Stories release.

Sandler is incredible in both Baumbachs. Him in Jay Kelly has the power of seeing Chaplin cry, and that’s on the cumulative history of his “dumb” comedies as much as the auteur vehicles.

Meyerowitz is top tier Baumbach and it has a bunch of stars, it’s crazy to still not have a disc release. And Sandler absolutely deserved an Oscar nom for it

Jennifer Lynch states “Lynch box will soon exist” on an Elephant Man Instagram post. Idk why but this one feels like the most pointless set they could do. All of his films except Straight Story, Wild At Heart, and Eraserhead have UHD releases from Criterion already. Just kind of a hey if you haven’t bought the discs already bundle.

It's an easy sell as the fanbase is large. I'm sure there's lots of shorts & home movies they can add to make it attractive to those who would be on the fence.

The Return on 4K would be a huge draw. He also has tons of obscure shorter works that would be great to have collected all together

I agree that The Return would be amazing to have in 4K. What would they do with the first two seasons? Including only the Lynch-directed episodes would be nice, but odd. Getting the whole thing would bloat the set.

I'd have to rewatch Part 8 on the 4K disc but on my first viewing I was hard pressed to notice much of an improvement. The Pilot on the other hand looked quite nice in SDR.

They might do "The Complete Lynch Films" as one set and Twin Peaks, On The Air and Hotel Room (maybe the original Mulholland Drive pilot) as a separate TV set. I dread to think what they would charge for a set that includes all films and all the TV shows. $800?

I know this isn't really in Criterion's wheelhouse, but I'd buy a complete Lynch set in a heartbeat if it included the script to Unrecorded Night.

I honestly wouldn't expect more than a Complete Films of David Lynch box. Adding in several discs of TV stuff seems like a pipe dream and, as you said, Finch, likely to drive the cost up to an unreasonable amount.
