Thanks. I'd started to wonder if B&N had abandoned coupons altogether.HistoryProf wrote: FWIW, it's not much but it's better than a kick in the ass.

I got one today, actually.HistoryProf wrote:They've been doing 15 or 20% off coupons for members - but only about once a month. Last time was Easter weekend. nothing since then. They have scaled back considerably with those.
I got that email an hour after I posted that - and a day after buying Army of Shadows and Le Cercle Rouge at a B&N #-oDrucker wrote:I got one today, actually.HistoryProf wrote:They've been doing 15 or 20% off coupons for members - but only about once a month. Yeah I got mine after ordering The Beatles in Mono Box Set. Woulda saved 30 bucks!HistoryProf wrote:I got that email an hour after I posted that - and a day after buying Army of Shadows and Le Cercle Rouge at a B&N #-oDrucker wrote:I got one today, actually.HistoryProf wrote:They've been doing 15 or 20% off coupons for members - but only about once a month. Why would he send them back? Aren't they allowed to still sell what they have in stock?ryannichols7 wrote:I work at a B&N and my coworker sent back all the OOP blurays
That does seem odd. My Marienbad came from Amazon last week and didn't have any such issues. It had a big white sticker on the front with Resnais' signature.teddyleevin wrote:Marienbad (ordered Mar. 29) finally arrived from Amazon. Edges bent and the cover has large brown specks on it. I haven't taken the shrink wrap off yet. Odd that the case would have left with any sort of stain on it. Might it be a re-shrinkwrapped used copy? Would Amazon do that? The shrink wrap doesn't have any stickers of any kind on it.
Haven't opened it yet, as my backup B&N order just shipped so I'll have two and keep the one that looks better.
Glad others did too....I really didn't think these would come through. and with that coupon to get Leon Morin and Mafioso for $43 is a steal.rwaits wrote:For anyone else who ordered from DD the day of the announcement ... I just got a shipping notice on Mafioso & Le Doulos. I'm surprised considering these quickly went to backorder.
Curiously, this has also happened to me. I got a ship confirmation email this morning for my Leon Morin blu, but my credit card hasn't been charged. Stranger still, when I click on the tracking link in the email, it takes me to my order history on the site...where it says the item is still stuck on backorder...HistoryProf wrote:ETA: oddly, the DDD charges remain gone from my card...that's awfully odd, especially for them. Anyone else not charged before getting the shipping notice?
Well hell, as of now, DD is giving me and HistoryProf free OOP blus, how can you beat that?!movielocke wrote:Reading these posts make me love Amazon Prime all the more than I already do. I ordered my Marienbad case about a week ago, when it showed backorder, & just got my shipping notification, so they're not gone for good.teddyleevin wrote:Does the "backorder" on the Marienbad replacement case page on the website mean that it is gone for good. I see Chungking and Man Who Fell To Earth are still in stock. Any educated guesses on this based on what might have happened when those titles got announced as OOP? I just ordered two of them (the Marienbad cases), and the estimated delivery date was at the end of April.
Yeah, I only used DD for those two because of the $10 off $50 coupon. They are taking orders for Le Doulos too and the price is $4 lower than Amazon's.krnash wrote:Well hell, as of now, DD is giving me and HistoryProf free OOP blus, how can you beat that?!movielocke wrote:Reading these posts make me love Amazon Prime all the more than I already do. In all seriousness, whenever possible- 98% of the time- I order from Amazon. They treat their customers and product right. I only do DD when they have an offer I can't refuse.
Orders placed and two copies each of AoS and LMP (bought pre and post coupon) being prepared for return to local B&N. Thanks.neal wrote:Mafioso and others are listed as being back in stock now or early next week again at Amazon.
That seems dangerous to me. why not wait to return them? Hard to trust an order based on "will be in stock on April 17th"AtlantaFella wrote:Orders placed and two copies each of AoS and LMP (bought pre and post coupon) being prepared for return to local B&N. Agreed -- there is a 14-day return policy so I will make sure the Amazon thing pans out before heading back to the store. I'm sure in a previous century I would have made an excellent hunter or gatherer, but alas this is what we are reduced to. Heh.HistoryProf wrote:That seems dangerous to me. why not wait to return them? Hard to trust an order based on "will be in stock on April 17th"
Army of Shadows is gone again. Le Cercle Rouge and Marienbad have the dreaded "ships in 1 to 3 weeks"neal wrote:Mafioso and others are listed as being back in stock now or early next week again at Amazon.
Le Doulos also in stock!mfunk9786 wrote:Leon Morin, Priest is straight-up In Stock.
