Paramount released the Blu-Ray themselves originally, and then WB just repressed it when they took over distribution of the back catalog.

It'd be great if we could get the original ending on disc. Wonder if they'd also include The Passion Of Martin (which I do already have on a Wholphin DVD compilation)?

I wish someone would put Citizen Ruth on Blu-Ray; the only Payne feature not yet on that format.

I wonder if Paramount is going to sublicense their library to the indie labels now that their deal with Warner Bros is over. Another batch of Paramount titles for Criterion is nice but opening up the floodgates for Kino, Shout, Arrow, etc to put out new editions would be ideal.

Just a reminder that this Friday (the 26th) at 5:30, Lee Kline and Phoebe Harmon are giving a presentation at the Wexner Center. Hopefully a member of this forum will be able to attend, as I doubt that it'll be livestreamed.

Criterion was there Oct of 2014. That was streamed. Then Lee Kline was there Jan of 2015 to discuss the Apu Trilogy restoration. This wasn't streamed. The fall of 2015 Criterion was not at Wexner which ended a bit of an annual run. So, the new way looks like a restoration discussion rather than random topics.

Barbet Schroeder's More (1969) is an upcoming Janus release.

Writer-director Barbet Schroeder, feted at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, will have a COLCOA-presented International Premiere of his digitally restored masterpiece, MORE (1969), in association with Les Films du Losange and Janus Films. Initially banned in France, Schroeder's debut feature cast the myth of Icarus as a cautionary tale of free love and drug addiction in the shadow of the May'68 Paris, illustrated by an original score by The Pink Floyd.

Well, La Ciénaga showed Criterion is willing to release a title on Blu-Ray previously put out by Home Vision. Although it is somewhat unfortunate that they haven't dipped into that well as much as they could.

Plus BFI already released on Blu-ray, so there is a master available for them to use. But that disc is region-free, so I don't know if that works against Criterion releasing it.

From what I remember, the old HVE dvd credited Janus films as one of the the rights holders on the back, so I figured that it was coming sooner or later. Does anyone know if this is the same for the HVE release of La vallée?

BFI also released Schroeder's MAITRESSE on blu ray from a Criterion restoration which after four years has never been upgraded by Criterion.

Anyone hear rumblings of Volker Schlondorff's Voyager (1991) heading to Criterion? It's held by Westchester. Also notable for the fact that it was written by Walker and Two-Lane Blacktop screenwriter Rudolph Wurlitzer.

Scorpion Releasing has/had Voyager in the US (on dvd, no blu-ray plans as of a few years ago). ArtHaus (StudioCanal?) has it as Homo Faber on blu-ray in Germany, probably region-locked (I never checked).

So the Wexner Center has been tweeting some of the Lee Kline/Phoebe Harmon presentation. No real news, but they did say yes when asked if we can expect any more Tarkovsky on Blu from them.

I'm hesitant to spread rumors from someone I don't know, but I'm going to do it. Some guy in located in Columbus tweeted that Criterion will be releasing Blood Simple (seen someone else also tweet this), Mondo Trasho, and The New World will have multiple cuts.
