An interesting programming note. February Bugs Bunny will be the Star of the Month

A complete collection of Bugs Bunny shorts would probably one of THE greatest releases ever - compared to Tom & Jerry discussed in another thread, he had a far higher proportion of classics and just a pretty high standard of quality to almost the very end. tbf, Warner Bros. in general made much better cartoons thanks to the talent they had aboard.

That would be a no brainer of collection I would purchase

I saw this in late December and can confirm it is missing quite a lot of the film. I don't know how they decided what to cut, but it was so disorienting that I questioned my own memory on a film I've seen at least 50 times. It has many other problems, not all of which are AI related.

I can also say, even with all of its problems, it is an incredible way to experience the film. If they get some folks who really care about the films involved, it could go a long way to staving off the streaming-only future some are worried about.

I have to say Robert Taylor has to be my least favorite star actor from the studio era. He is so uninspiring. Not one of his films I would put high on my list, but if I had to pick one that I could be OK with it would be the noir High Wall

I'm not quite sure I understand what this means, but TCM Becomes “Ongoing Home” of the Looney Tunes Library. Since they don't have their own streaming hub, I suppose we can just expect to see more Looney Tunes cartoons shown between films. It would be cool if they built in a regular slot on Saturday mornings as they've done with Popeye cartoons, the Bowery Boys, and old serials.

The films are available to watch on demand on the Watch TCM app. It will only show one title, but it includes three shorts with related themes (Bugs vs. Elmer Fudd, Bugs vs. Cecil Tortoise, etc.)

TCM is currently showing one of the strangest yet most fascinating tie-in co-hosting nights, four films selected by and introduced (with Alicia Malone) by Felicia Feaster, the author of a book called The Goth Garden. She's incredibly knowledgeable about both gardening and classic film, and encourages people to plant poisonous plants in their gardens. That is highly relatable to me because I found out a few years ago that several of the plants growing in my yard (that were not actually planted by me) are poisonous, and I've been actively encouraging their growth since then. And now, on her advice, I'm going to plant some more!
