When Loretta Young won instead, she covered by turning it into a standing ovation

I'm amazed that Farmer's Daughter has never been on DVD, it seems like it has such a built-in audience with the cast. It's also, as gcgiles said, a genuinely warm and even progressive comedy, I can't wait to have a legit copy.

Interesting that Shout! didn't bother with them on any level. I'm guessing they were like "oh, fuck no" and Kino replied "well, um, yeah sure... I guess."

I've never seen those two, but I'll be happy if Kino announces Inspector Clouseau. It's hardly a holy grail title or anything, and it's got major issues, but what the hell, I actually enjoy the stupid thing.

After Hours were two of the guesses in contention. So, either a deal fell through or that was never the right answer.
(For that matter, what was the answer to "the couple in the car" clue?)

The clock eventually was decided to be a clue for
4months 3weeks and 2days - which we saw cover art for in the Apu Trilogy video, so the timeframe was right/seems to confirm that clue - its just been delayed for awhile now, probably due to director involvement. When we initially guessed One Two Three, someone at Scorpion? said that Criterion didn't have the rights to it, so this isn't too much of a surprise.
I believe the car was for one of the Wenders Road Trilogy movies - which was also supposed to come out that year, but was also delayed quite awhile. We're still missing
This is Spinal Tap - unless the stonehenge drawing turned out to be something else.

Wonder if the controversial color timing will be different? One reliable poster at the HTF said he compared it to a good 35mm print (presumably with color timing that is known to be at least close to what was intended) and said the current BD was spot on, but I'm not sure if that settled the matter.

I could see a couple scenarios playing out, such as the Theatrical Cut being the old color timing while the Extended Cut remains the same new color timing; or both being the new color timing, but tweaked slightly to be not quite as yellow saturated.

If the extended cut is identical to the previous BD, I doubt I'd ever consider getting this since the extended cut is really the definitely version for me. (The cuts made to the original U.S. - and U.K. - prints were more or less dictated by their distributors, correct?)

Kino is using a cutdown of the Extended Cut master to recreate the U.S. Theatrical cut. I have no idea if they're doing anything to the color timing.

Great news! The extended cut is worthless. Some of those moments added are a nice novelty, but they really don't add much and feel unnecessary. The dubbing in particular is awful as Eli Wallach sounds like a fossil. Also, Tim Lucas is a million times better at a commentary than Richard Schickel. Not just in terms of speaking ability, but in knowledge as well.
