What - the carpenter being carried out by three of his female followers (the two Marys and Sinope?) who were then caught by centurians, executed and then they and Jesus were dumped in a mass open grave? Or, as would be more pleasing to me, the explanation of whatever crypto-biological feat was achieved by the corporeal body.

The real question is: will this outlast the Brokeback SE in terms of the jokes?

Simply put, I want to see more pain and suffering. I say this since this seems to be why most people in my area thought it was so great: "It was just like it must have been." Brother!

when i originally saw it, i thought that adding the terminator theme at the end and having the title screen "slam" shut would have been awesome.

Thank god I'm not the only one! It took everything I had not to bust out laughing at Terminator Jesus rising up to kick some Centurion ass in the last shot.

From Davis DVD:
The Passion of the Christ

We have received a few more details on the upcoming The Passion of the Christ: The Definitive Edition. We previously announced that the two-disc set would contain an anamorphic widescreen transfer, Aramaic Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS Surround tracks and English subtitles.

We can now tell you that the set will feature both the original and 2005's less splattery "The Passion Recut" versions. Bonus materials will include an audio commentary track with director Mel Gibson (not fully confirmed yet), deleted scenes, a thorough making-of documentary, featurettes, an art gallery, trailers and more. Look for it on February 6th, 2007 with a retail of $26.98.
Though I thought the film was pretty wretched, I'm curious about both the commentary track (how PC or potentially un-PC it will be; perhaps that's why it's "unconfirmed" at this point) and also how much the deleted scenes will emphasize certain, uh, viewpoints, regarding the death of Christ.

Great observations. In all seriousness, with the money he's made with this film, can't he produces this dvd on his own? Or have the rights to do that been signed away with Fox? At this point, without offending too many people, he should just put it all out there... meaning, deleted scenes, frank commentary, etc... I'd be interested to hear it, too...

He probably could theoretically produce this on his own but he doesn't have the distribution reach and built in marketing team that Fox does.
