Re: Dynamic Consensus Lists
SIGH, swo - don't do it! Just because A24 used it for the marketing doesn't mean the two V thing shows up anywhere in the actual film and definitely doesn't mean it's the title of the film

Re: Dynamic Consensus Lists
VVhat if we split the difference and I change all Ws in the thread to double Vs?

Re: Dynamic Consensus Lists
I'm not saying you're a liar, but the title card opening the film for its home video release most certainly does name it as The VVitch.mfunk9786 wrote:SIGH, swo - don't do it! It's tough to see this forum so divided.swo17 wrote:Consensus #1: The Lobster/Knight of Cups/Certain Women/Love & Friendship (5) NEW

Re: Dynamic Consensus Lists
Whatever happened to Trees? Shouldn't we have a Malick/Reichardt/Stillman/Lanthimos "his/her face when she saw the Consensus Lists" montage?

Re: Dynamic Consensus Lists
First post updated. Aferim! and Son of Saul have been reassigned to 2015.
The next update after the Oscars will be the year-end one, at which time I will be doing the following:
1. No longer counting 2016 lists of less than 10, and only partially counting lists of 10 that haven't been updated recently. If you haven't edited your list since at least the last Friday of October and you want it to count as is, then you will need to add a note to your post that indicates this. Lists that I stop counting at year-end can be counted again later if they're subsequently edited to constitute a qualifying top 10.
2. Deleting empty place-holder posts in the 2016 thread that were never updated. These people are free to contribute a list at some point in the future, but they will lose their spot earlier on in the thread.
3. "Freezing" the results for years 2016 and prior (i.e. any changes during 2017 will be shown as changes from that point in time).

First post updated. Lion and Victoria are new in old years, and Sunset Song and Cemetery of Splendor have switched years.

In that case, I'm changing my lists for both of those years.

Re: Dynamic Consensus Lists
I'm currently assigning both of these films to 2015 because they both have an equal number of mentions in the 2015 and 2016 threads (in these cases I assign to the earlier year). This is a result of some of the 2016 lists becoming ineligible for the first time this update (because they were mentioned in lists that didn't comprise 10 films). If these lists are edited to become eligible in the future, the films may be reassigned to 2016.

Re: Dynamic Consensus Lists
I was waiting to see how long it would take someone to notice if I didn't! Also, maybe I scale back to once a month? Or do people crave updates more often than that?
