Does Warners own the rights to Fellini's GINGER AND FRED? I seem to recall it being released by them on VHS, but I could be wrong.

How about Richard Lester's "Petulia" and the Wizard of Oz - related "Under The Rainbow"?

Thanks for your appreciation, Gregory. Quality Street was already on the list, but your other recommendations were overlooked by myself, so thanks!

Unlike the other lists, this one - my first list - is in alphabetical order, the later lists being in chronological order, which is a much more satisfying way of ordering lists of films, I feel, but there are so many titles here that it would take a long time to re-edit the titles into chronological order, but I shall undertake this exciting and glamourous endevour soon, decade by decade over a period of days.

At the risk of aggravating the admins here, I will post a list of unreleased Italian films at some point in addition to the French and German lists that are already available. The reason that I have presented these "lists" here, is because I feel that people here are the most knowledgable about World Cinema and which studio owns which film, etc. Posting elsewhere would probably be a disaster. I have lists for Czech films, but I won't post that one. It's also very tempting to compile a Russian list, but I'll leave that one for now!

Sorry, Gordon, there was an ambiguity in my previous post. Two-Faced Woman should be in the MGM section of Warner's holdings, not the RKO.

I just picked up these two Ford classics and watched both... the transfers on each were outstanding. These are on par with any of Warner's fine classic titles. The packaging and all is good too. Surely worth picking up now... as opposed to when they're released everywhere later in the year. They'll likely have the same packaging and transfers on the wide releases.

Yeah, but if you're planning to get Ford-Wayne Collection, then you may want to wait for 3 Godfathers in a boxset.

My guess is The Merry Widow will be released in a classic musicals box, but I think there's a good chance we could see a Lubitsch Silents box set.

Warner does not own the rights to these three films. In fact, each has already been released by a different company. David Shepard released a decent print of The Marriage Circle. (Like a lot of Shepard's lesser-known titles, it goes in and out of print, but you can usually find it on Amazon's Marketplace.) Milestone released UCLA's stunning (considering the limitations) restoration of Eternal Love. And Lady Windemere's Fan was part of the "More Treasures from the American Film Archives" boxset.

As for Student Prince, that's a personal favorite of mine, and I'm dying for Warner to release. (They do own that one.)

BTW, I think The Patriot is a "lost" film, isn't it?

You might be right, I used IMDB to find the production company distribution source. I stand corrected.

Milestone owns the rights to Rosita and has been searching for better material now for a couple of years. I've emailed a few times to which Dennis always replies, "we want to bring it out but it needs restoration." I believe there was a hint during the last Warner chat that more Shearer is on its way (including silents) and Lubitsch. Since Student Prince was released on laser, I imagine this will probably see the light of day on DVD - especially since most of the other titles in that laser series have just been reannounced on DVD (The Wind, The Crowd, Show People, etc.).

The Student Prince will most likely be one of the titles that WB use when they release some of Shearer's silents.

Peronally I think WB's needs to release Nicolas Roeg and Donald Cammell's Performance... they've been saying "next year" or "next fall" for years now. damn I want this title so bad
