Finally, a FC release I probably won't buy, even out of curiosity.

This is trash with a nude celebrity, it will sell better than anything they’ve ever released

Fun City Editions
And if I’m remembering it correctly, not having seen it since its “Late Not-So-Great Movies” showing on Toronto’s CityTV in 1989, it isn’t even fun in that insane way Endless Love or Roadhouse are. It’s just painfully boring and offensive.

Boring, maybe; but what's offensive?

Re: Fun City Editions
True. Everyone on Blu-ray.com are already saying how excited they are that this is getting a Blu-ray because Phoebe Cates gets nude in it. People like them are probably the reason the majority of new releases from boutique labels is shlock like this.domino harvey wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2024 5:09 pmThis is trash with a nude celebrity, it will sell better than anything they’ve ever released

Honestly, it’s been 35 years, but I have a vague memory of pretty silly Arabic stereotypes in the villainous characters, but I could totally be misremembering it.Fiery Angel wrote:Boring, maybe; but what's offensive?

I haven't seen it since the mid '80s either, so you may be right--I barely remember anything about it, even Cates.

Wow, Racing With the Moon may be their first non-feelbad release

Re: Fun City Editions
A number of their releases (particularly earlier on) don't strike me as feelbad. Rancho Deluxe, Smile, Party Girl, Married to the Mob, and even stuff like Jeremy and I Start Counting! don't leave me with that feeling

Re: Fun City Editions
I caught up with this after Tracy Letts raved about it on that podcast. Anyway, thought you might like to know that the FCE release's booklet does feature a good essay from hertherewillbeblus wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2023 5:30 pmHandgun
I would like to hear a commentary by Alexandra Heller-Nicholas on a physical release.
