According to B&N, the following will be getting blu ray only releases.

Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion 6/8
Y tu mama tambien 6/8
Love Streams 6/29
Breaking the Waves 6/29
King if the Hill 6/29
Frances Ha 6/29

I bring this up because I kinda regret not picking up the cool Persona digipak.

You're in luck. The Persona bluray only will still be a digipak.

Unfortunately it's not. I saw it at B&N last week and it was in the plastic case.

Happy to King of the Hill coming back. Thought something fishy be going on when Kino released their own version of Underneath.

Oh, that's too bad. Bluray.com has it listed as a digipak. I wonder what happened to the booklet.

I contacted Criterion because I was interested to see a list of all the dual format releases, and this is what they responded with.
I’ve recently come back to collecting criterion and was contemplating if I should buy the dual releases or not.

For anyone who cares, the BD-only releases of King of the Hill, Breaking the Waves, and Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion are all in plastic cases, while Y tu mamá también is in a digipak

I believe this was also mentioned in another thread, but listings can be found several different places online for an August 2 reissue of the Jacques Demy box, with the number of discs now listed as 6 instead of 13.

This list needs to be updated. I actually have the Blu-only Demy box. It's still pretty nice.

Criterion: "I anticipate that IL SORPASSO will be in plastic once it's updated to standalone Blu-ray and that this update will occur sometime in the next year."

Dual packaging nerds please buy this up to hasten its demise.

I’m curious if the width of the Blu-ray only Demy box changed?

It's about 1.7" wide, almost half the size of the dual-format version. I'm going to save the freed-up shelf space for the Pasolini box.

Great, thanks. I could save the room too. I’ll have to pick it up at the next flash sale.

I went through the list recently. I should've posted. So, here we go..... Currently, Like Someone in Love and Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! are both listed as DVD only... I could see them leaving the MS World Cinema Projects as dual format... A Hard Days Night has three versions. The only one that has gone UHD

Brief History of Time, A
Freshman, The
Great Beauty, The
Hard Day's Night, A
Hearts and Minds
Il Sorpasso
Judex
Jules and Jim
La vie de bohème
Like Someone in Love
Long Day Closes, The
Martin Scorsese's World Cinema Project No. 1
Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Project No. 2
Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Project No. 3
Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Project No. 4
Master of the House
Pickpocket
Riot in Cell Block 11
Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!

looking at that list, I'll admittedly say these are all titles I can't imagine sold through print runs, A Hard Day's Night being the exception. I worked at B&N during the period all these came out, and none of them were particular movers. just pure speculation as to maybe why 10+ years on, they still exist in dual format only editions (the WCF sets aside, which I do agree will probably stay DF)

Il Sorpasso is coming from Radiance with a new 4K scan, if anyone is interested in that one.

I'm not sure about Tie Me Up, but Like Someone In Love has been DVD-only for at least several years now. So I'm not sure what happened with that title but it hasn't been dual-format for a long time, and Criterion does not seem to be in any hurry to (re)release it on Blu-ray... have they ever done this before with any other title?

Pickpocket is listed as DVD only joining Like Someone in Love and Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down as DVD only, which have both been in this category for a long while. Not sure what any of this means for potential bluray only releases

I happened to notice today that Hearts and Minds is listed as "currently unavailable" on the Criterion store, so a single-format reissue may be on the way.

I updated the list to create a DVD only section that was originally dual format. I wonder if the DVD only will jump right to the UHD format

Dual Format
Brief History of Time, A
Freshman, The
Great Beauty, The
 Il Sorpasso
Judex
Jules and Jim
La vie de bohème
Long Day Closes, The

Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Project No. 2
Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Project No. 3
Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Project No. 4

Riot in Cell Block 11

Dual Format to DVD only
Hearts and Minds
Like Someone in Love
Pickpocket
Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!

I'd expect the WCP sets to become Blu-only eventually as that's what happened with The Essential Jacques Demy and Zatoichi.
