Might be a bit of a pointless release since the Universal 4K is still in-print but there are still some nice extras on this. Sad that the Maggie Cheung and Cloris Leachman deleted scenes still won't be released though.

Not sure if the wait was due to Arrow waiting / hoping for more higher-profile cast and crew members to sit down for interviews but what they amassed sounds promising. Really looking forward to this, particularly the Fred Raskin interview.

A member at the other forum mentioned today that the Universal 4K upscale of the film resulted in aliasing effects, which struck me as odd since this is one of the more acclaimed upscales. Maybe James Flower was involved in this and wants to chime in but I can’t imagine this is a grave issue as there’d been more brouhaha at the time.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they originally licensed just BD rights when their original postcard teasers were found (it was pre-“Pitch Black” 4K) and Uni probably didn’t want to license 4K rights because of their own release.

I guarantee you the "extended and alternate scenes" are the same ones that have been included on every other release. If this actually included the Leachman and Cheung scenes (which as I understand it were completely deleted, not merely trimmed) then Arrow would be stupid not to be trumpeting the fact.

With no notable improvements to the picture quality expected due to 2K digital master, and the audio commentary being the only new special feature, this feels like a rather unnecessary release, especially given that Universal's own disc is widely available worldwide.

Maybe they can do a UK-only release of Django Unchained (licensed from Sony) in the future, that one at least should have a 4K DI.
