thanks twofer, does it have subs on Nouvelle as well? Thats one that I was considering picking up as well. I've got a REALLY ugly VHS i bought off of eBay of it, and the subs leave a LOT to be desired on it, lots of dialogue unsubbed, if i recall there were intertitles that were unsubbed (or i might be thinking of another VHS i bought)

yes, subs on both films, and the transfers look beautiful (though there's some doubt over whether nouvelle vague should be 1.66 or not, it certainly doesn't detract from the film any). obviously with any later godard not EVERYTHING is going to be subtitled considering the density of his soundtracks, but the subs on these are about as perfect as it gets. i'm very happy to have this set.
