Re: On Ordering Indicator Releases
Thanks for the responses- I opened up the packaging and things were mostly fine- there was a stray hair on the bottom of the disc, but otherwise no noticeable damage. I'll reach out to them if anything comes up.

Re: On Ordering Indicator Releases
I have no idea how long it's been going on, but there's a pretty good 3 for £30 sale on the Powerhouse site right now. (I don't see any mention of it in this thread.) Select limited editions are included, so you can actually match their prices during the usual flash sales.
I bought Absolution, The Pumpkin Eater (surely on its way out), and Body Double, along with Roadgames.

It’s an ongoing promotion. Features standard editions of titles and some of the slower moving limited editions. Definitely a great way to fill in some gaps.

Re: On Ordering Indicator Releases
I think it is a very nice gesture on the part of Indicator to include some LE titles in such a sale, and not just regular editions as would be the natural reflex of most labels. I had kind of assumed everything was SE when I placed my order and was pleasantly surprised to realise 2 of my titles were LE instead.
And at 3 discs, shipping stays in the safe Royal Mail/Canada Post zone and does not switch into the dreaded FedEx International hell. As has been mentioned, that transporter has questionable practices when it comes to customs brokerage fees, billing them (or not) arbitrarily and unfairly in my view. Other carriers do not even bother with those fees as the process is very matter of fact (I have done it myself in the past) and things usually simply sail through customs.

Re: On Ordering Indicator Releases
Thank you for the reminder. Yesterday I ordered Oleanna, Otley and A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. Never seen any of them before. I am fascinated with the diversity of British cinema of the 60s and early 70s, and to see earlier performances of Tom Courtenay and Alan Bates will be a real treat. And I can't go past seeing William H. Macy in a Mamet movie!Boosmahn wrote: ↑Sat Jun 05, 2021 12:13 amI have no idea how long it's been going on, but there's a pretty good 3 for £30 sale on the Powerhouse site right now. Re: On Ordering Indicator Releases
Pleased to say my latest Indicator parcel arrived on Friday - containing Hammer Volume 6, Corruption, 20th Century and Roadgames. The latter two were low in stock when I ordered in June I think (indeed Roadgames is OOP at the moment).
Some lovely additions such as the Hammer posters, and a sticker related to 20th Century, and all very well packaged for safe travel.
I’m looking forward to the Hammer and Corruption releases, though I might have to be brace myself before my first viewing of Corruption!

Re: On Ordering Indicator Releases
Is there a reason why so many Indicator titles are out of stock on Amazon.co.uk?

Re: On Ordering Indicator Releases
Got a few examples? Are you guys still able to order most titles from Amazon UK? UK buyers now have to buy US releases through Amazon UK and don't get access to the usual range of sales that the Amazon US store runs. I'm wondering if you will soon face the opposite.domino harvey wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 7:42 pmIs there a reason why so many Indicator titles are out of stock on Amazon.co.uk?

Re: On Ordering Indicator Releases
The Columbia Noir Vol 4 has been out of stock since release date, and when I visited the page, every other suggested Indicator title was out of stock as well (Corruption, Dietrich/Sternberg, etc). Other recent titles from other labels were in stock (BFI Bergman, Johnny Guitar MOC, etc)

Re: On Ordering Indicator Releases
I just buy everything direct from Indicator now. At least the newest releases are discounted with the BUNDLE code, they have a good points system, and shipping is free to the U.S. if you wait until you have £200 of product to order. If you can't wait that long for Columbia Noir 4, just add three copies of the Mae West set to hit the free shipping threshold

Re: On Ordering Indicator Releases
I've ordered directly from Indicator since moving to the US and their deliveries put Amazon's to shame. And all of your money goes directly to the source instead of Bezos.

Re: On Ordering Indicator Releases
I've taken to exclusively buying directly from the labels at this point (with the exception of BFI/Studio Canal releases). I understand that if you save $2 or so per disc with Amazon, that quickly adds up if you buy 100 films a year. But with the extras that get thrown in for pre-orders, customer service, and points systems, as well as supporting the labels directly, it's definitely worth it for me to just buy directly.

I'm largely the same, but when I don't I've largely replaced Amazon UK with Rarewaves

Re: On Ordering Indicator Releases
How many months was it again from the original release date for a title to be included in their sale? I'm thinking the Noir Vol 3 set is probably not going to be included just yet, as it was only out in May (?).

Re: On Ordering Indicator Releases
The Nov 2020 sale included up through April 2020 releases. So May 2021 and following releases like Columbia Noir 3 not too promising this time around.

I wonder if they will be bringing back the OOP Limited Edition titles for this sale as well.

Re: On Ordering Indicator Releases
They haven't always been consistent--an early sale didn't include any boxsets at all. I would keep your expectations low, and perhaps you will be pleasantly surprised

There is now a countdown clock on their website so the sale is Friday.

Re: On Ordering Indicator Releases
£18 on US shipping sours the deal a little bit but outside of Noir Vol 2 and Things Change there wasn't anything else I wanted to buy at the respective price point. Taste of Fear and Vol 3 will have to wait and hopefully something else will come along before the next sale.

Re: On Ordering Indicator Releases
There are 16 Limited Editions in a special 50% off section when buying 2 or more, so all can be had for a mere £5 each. Perhaps that's a good Indicator they may not be getting standard editions.
