I saw it in a gorgeous 35mm print at the London Film Festival in the 90s and picked up a really interesting book about the film to tie in with what I presume was a major restoration. I’d love to see a physical media release of this.

Criterion's erstwhile sister label, Homevision, released it on DVD yonks ago.
It's interesting that so many here are receptive to the film. Most of the times I've spoken with people about it over the years they expressed disappointment and wondered how it could have been so revered once upon a time. I wonder if some recent developments in film style and docu-fiction hybridity (see e.g. Malick, mentioned above) have made people more receptive to its virtues....
