Hey everyone, just like last year I’ve selected a theme tangentially related to the holidays but I found the starting film I’ve chosen, Eldar Ryanazov’s Carnival Night, to be a genuine festive charmer with the vibe of Sturges (in some capacity at least) and color cinematography akin to a Golden Age musical. I’ll write more once I post my final write-ups of the films I intend to watch this festive season but I implore anyone who reads this to give Carnival Night a chance ASAP, it’s a wonderful delight and a perfect film for the holidays.
