This may be thinking a little too much outside the box, but is there a possibility that the Coogan 'Kid' and the guy next to him with samurai sword and a birdcage is meant to be a sort of Takeshi Kitano (star of Brother) figure so the full thing may be THE KID BROTHER, another Harold Lloyd to go with Safety Last (and arguably his best film).

I do think the glasses and hair looks like the ones Elaine wears in A New Leaf. (which was recently released by Olive.) Too bad that Criterion couldn't get the rights to that. I still wouldn't rule out Heartbreak Kid.

I don't think so. That expression comes straight from the film.

Where is our annual Y Tu Mama Tambien hint?!

I'm still unconvinced about The Heartbreak Kid, because if Jason Polan was going for that, he probably would have just drawn Cybil Shepard.

Michael Ironside is screaming because it still hasn't come out yet.

Criterion has the rights to Mikey and Nicky.

I would love to see Criterion pick up the rights to the three major Palomar/Bristol-Meyers Squibb titles, but I think they may have been sold outright to Paramount, so Criterion would have to license through them.

The woman and the candy is a reference to Looking for Mr. Goodbar.

Possibly. Warner Brothers announced new dvds for the remakes of both Stepford Wives and The Heartbreak Kid but not the originals. So even if we assume Paramount purchased those films, one has to be optimistic that they seem to be MIA from the Warners list. (so far)

The woman doesn't look like Diane Keaton at all.

She's wearing the Annie Hall glasses, though. I'm convinced!

Diane Keaton's character in Looking for Mr. Goodbar wears glasses in some scenes too.

I think Oshima's Boy is a lock, based on this clue and the fact that Criterion has rights, and it's one of the most recent additions to their Hulu offerings.

Autumn Sonata, no? I thought I had seen that on a previous page...

Didn't Criterion posted pictures of Scanner, The Brood and Shivers film cans a while back?

Does John Waters have a ghost page? I immediately thought the candy-woman was Little Chrissy from Pecker.

The adult and child to the left of Eraser Head resemble Gregory Peck and Scout, and a deadly weapon is being brandished as a bird's cage.

This may be a longshot, but is it possible that the person in the frosty window is not a boy at all, but Jane Wyman in All That Heaven Allows? Notice the curtain and the similarity in hair styles.

1) To Kill a Mockingbird was just released as a 2 disc loaded blu ray from Universal earlier this year. A Criterion edition isn't happening.

2) John Waters does have a page on the Criterion website due to his cameo in Something Wild.

3) I don't agree that there is a clue for Leon the Professional in the drawing but it's worth noting that Sony has let most of their early Besson titles fall out of print. (The Big Blue, Subway, Le Dernier Combat) If Criterion wanted to do Besson, there's certainly plenty of titles available. I personally don't see Criterion being all that interested.

Yes. I think the music notes and autumn leaves pretty much lock that one in, which is great: I watched the DVD not too long ago and it could really use an upgrade.

well i knew this, just the fact that they're spiraling makes it interesting. I love Autumn Sonata, it's one of Bergman's very best, and I'm glad they are upgrading his movies this year after not upping a single one in 2012 (somehow?!)

so as for Eraserhead scaling the building, why would he do that? because he's the Odd Man Out, of course!

10 drawings = decalogue?

Any correspondance to the story of the drawing and the month of release? (this would be funny if it indicated they have no idea when Eraserhead will make it out, but they're hoping soon)

Woman in the window = woman in the window?

Any significance in the two spears in the gates of hell? indication of a double clue?

Could each of the ten drawings contain two clues?

Any significance to the grate in the bottom left corner? it stands out as different from the other ornamentation on the first story. I guess the little dot on the bottom of the right door is a keyhole?

Could the spiraling wind, blowing up the autumn sonata leaves/notes be a double clue for The Wind?

I think that "Hypnosifl" of the blu-ray.com forums may have solved the "candy woman" mystery: "Maybe [...] "Life is Sweet" by Mike Leigh? The main character had glasses like that and was a bulemic who binged on chocolate." He's referring to Jane Horrocks' character, with pictures here and here.
