Has Scorsese made any kind of statement?

Film director Martin Scorsese said: Michael Jackson was extraordinary. When we worked together on Bad, I was in awe of his absolute mastery of movement on the one hand, and of the music on the other

I suppose at least Barmy's tasteless comment on Michael Jackson came after his death, unlike the one on Youssef Chahine.

Wow, that is absolutely heartbreaking. I don't know about anyone else here, but I look forward to watching the better-than-it-should-be Discovery Channel show Pitchmen every week, mostly because of Mays. Not only did he really seem to care about what he did and the consumers that bought the products he would pitch, he was a devoted family man (his son works as a production assistant for him) and has a very young daughter. Can't really imagine a public personality at the moment who I found more affable and genuine. What a terrible shame.

And the bizarre element of all of this is the plane mishap that occurred yesterday afternoon... maybe something inside of him was jostled around a bit too much a la Natasha Richardson?

When it rains it pours. Don't these things usually happen in threes, though? Maybe things'll quiet down some.

I really liked Billy Mays, specially for the fact that he made fun of himself without any problems. He had started to make commercials for ESPN and other networks where he mocked his infomercials, proving that he didn't take himself so seriously. Sad thing is that the one that deserve to die was the Sham Wow dude, specially after the prostitute debacle.

Wow, I wouldn't say that the Shamwow guy really deserved to die. Going out on a limb and saying that neither of them deserve(d) to die.

Well, the plot thickens, although what I'm wondering is how a seatbelt would have prevented Billy from having something fall on his head.

Yeah, that was a little extreme from me. But really, Billy Mays was the modern day version of Bob Villa, and he was really likable. The Sham WoW guy has always seemed like a douchebag to me.

By the way, I'm also wondering why Barmy hasn't been banned from the forum yet. For every good thing he may post, there are other 40 that are just trollish. Like Domino said, his comments are as predictable as Armond and is not the fact that he may have a different opinion than the majority of the forum members, but is the way he expresses them, where there isn't any thinking or rationale behind them.

I hear he punched a hooker. (Sorry, I just really wanted to write that, and I think she bit him so it was self-defense)

Before tonight's repeat, The Simpsons showed the video for "Do the Bartman" (which MJ produced and co-wrote).

What would have been a really classy move would have been to show the episode he anynomously guested on.

Billy Mays was on The Tonight Show sometime early last week talking about the Discovery Channel show, and he made mention of the fact that he belonged to the same agency that Ed McMahon did and was respectful in talking about him. Very strange.

The airline is retracting the comments that Billy Mays wasn't wearing his seat belt.

Only slightly film related but interesting - Britain's oldest Olympian, Godfrey Rampling, Charlotte Rampling's father, has just died at 100 years old.

Fred Travalena

Man, they're dropping like flies in ol' Hollywood! :(

From the L.A. Times obit (above): Travalena's talent for vocal mimicry led to a side career dubbing offensive dialogue in feature films bound for airing on television -- including Pesci in "Casino," De Niro in "Brazil" and Sean Connery in "Just Cause." =D>
