So fo' sho' on Housu! Good news! I'd rather have the poster over the shirt though. The shirt looks rather contextless.

I think the "company" line also means a second volume of Brakhage is finally on the way.

Is Brakhage also why the Sonic Youth content in the newsletter? We likely to get their soundtracks or maybe even Renaldo in his Text of Light guise?
Purists ignite now.

It would be definitely Brakhage if Stereolab was on their somehow since they named one fo their songs after him.

I'm stoked about this. Finally some autopsy footage on 1080!

I guess enough people bitched about Howards End not having a spine on DVD. I like how they threw in the "has been available on DVD as part of the Merchant Ivory Collection for some time"

Who has enough money to worry about the gap between 487 and 489, and yet not enough money to upgrade to Blu-ray?

I don't care if purists scoff--I think Dog Star Man is much better with some spacey psychedelic rock playing in the background. Even if I'm watching the film straight. The prospect of Blu-ray is enticing, though.

Ugh, so obvious. And I thought it was a Daft Punkt video anthology.

That sounds about right. I'm hoping Volume 2 will be a Blu-ray disc.

I hope volume 2 will be at least three Blu-ray discs.

Well the volume 2 of Brakhage has been discussed in its own thread, and confirmed there some time ago by Adam. Chances of it going Blu seem slim though based on the response on the thread, it might but I'm hoping with this announcement they've changed their minds from the set going from Eclipse to the mainline. In any case just check out the thread for some of the titles that were confirmed by Marilyn Brakhage.

Its great though that it seems to be moving ahead of the pipeline~

I was thinking that Sonic Youth was in the newsletter because I bet were going to hear soon that 1991: The Year Punk Broke is coming from Criterion.

It's Mark Ibold, the band's official bassist as of the last album (and last few tours). Although he is now busy again with his previous gig. Some indie band from the 90s called Asphalt or something. :P

I think this clue pretty much confirms that it will be blu: Volume 2 has been delayed so long that it will be part of the blu-ray ranks.

I guess Ibold is not allowed an opinion when it comes to rating criterions. A friend of mine used to see him in the non-region one section of Kim's so he's probably has an opinion.

It is nice for those not on Blu-Ray yet who might want the extras on the reissue though - maybe 8 1/2 might get revamped too, even if just for the extra documentary.

Yet no mention of any of the 'exclusive' Kurosawa titles getting an individual release in the future for those who don't want 20 double dips! ](*,)
