I share your dream. I know Where I'm Going, if upgraded, should include the full length Edge of the World, given the added space of bluray.

Seriously, get the BFI. It's an amazing set (and region-free).

This would be perhaps the greatest release of anything ever.

I would buy 5.

I'll dream right along with you, but I presume we won't see I Know Where I'm Going! until it undergoes a full restoration, since it seems like they're working through the major Powell / Pressburger titles one by one (which means Colonel Blimp should be next up from Criterion).

While attempting to dig up any information regarding Janus and the Harold Lloyd Estate (there's a few Harold Lloyd films playing at Film Forum between now and November -for those wanting to see them/find out who the distributor is), I dug up this mildly interesting list of Janus films from the AFI Catalog page (oddly, most all of the films listed are from 1961-64, and plenty is missing, but there are a few surprises there (at least for those of us who haven't seen that full Janus catalog page that somebody had a while back, if anyone still has a copy of that, could they pm it to me?)).

Here's the full list of 35 titles:

All These Women (1964)
Anatomy of a Marriage; My Days With Jean-Marc (1964)
Anatomy of a Marriage; My Nights With Françoise (1964)
Ashes and Diamonds (1961)
L'avventura (1961)
Bernadette of Lourdes (1962)
China! (1965)
Cinderella (1961)
Crooks Anonymous (1963)
The Devil's Eye (1961)
The Face of War (1963)
The Fiances (1964)
The Fruit Is Ripe (1961)
The Guest (1964)
Harold Lloyd's Funny Side of Life (1966)
Heavens Above! (1963)
Jules and Jim (1962)
Just Once More (1963)
Maid for Murder (1963)
Nurse on Wheels (1963)
Opiate '67 (1967)
The Playboy of the Western World (1963)
Port of Call (1963)
The Ritual (1970)
Secrets of Women (1961)
Some Like It Cool (1961)
The Sound of Trumpets (1963)
Sparrows Can't Sing (1963)
The Swedish Mistress (1964)
Three Fables of Love (1963)
Through a Glass Darkly (1962)
The Troublemaker (1964)
Two Daughters (1963)
Winter Light (1963)
Young Aphrodites (1966)

I also found the TCM page for Hitchcock's Number 17, which lists Janus as the domestic distributor. Does Janus own quite a few of these PD Hitchcock films (some of which haven't seen daylight for a while - like Secret Agent - that Ian mentioned not too long ago)?

Going by the recent hint, we might see a title announced today that begins with a 'B'.

I suppose Spartacus or Do the Right Thing are also candidates for much requested upgrades--and Spartacus was on the list they posted in the summer of 2011

The amount of work going into prepping that release would result in a lot of fanfare and a theatrical tour for a year before any blu, I would think. So once they announce a 4k Rublev theatrical premiere add a year to that to find the bluray date.

My late predictions hold that this year Criterion will buck their historic minimal December output by releasing:

On the Waterfront
Y tu Mama Tambien
The Following
Things to Come
Brazil blu
Grey Gardens blu

No Eclipse

The Brazil Criterion page says it has "A new, high definition transfer", does this necessarily mean that a bluray is iminent, or do they say high definition transfers for DVDs as well?

Almost all the pages for Criterion's back catalogue already say that.

"High definition" has been appearing on the back of Criterion DVDs as far back as 2005, if not farther.

Hmm. It was a 1999 release though, and if I remember correctly, a non-anamorphic one...

The original release was non-anamorphic. They updated the transfer and re-released the box and issued a new single-disc edition in 2006.

That's right. I forgot. It's one of my least favorite films in the collection (just not a Gilliam fan, I'm afraid), so I completely blanked on that after not picking it up.
