Re: Criterion Facebook and Twitter
apparently the building is invisible...this is what Google street view gives you (and funnily enough, the corner building to the right is a Capital One Office)

This is only a 15 minute walk from my office. I'll have to check next time I go for a walk on lunch break.

The envelope in which I received some replacement inserts last October lists the address as 215 Park Avenue South as the location (printed on company labels). Been meaning to make the pilgrimage.

Re: Criterion Facebook and Twitter
i probably shouldn't be saying this, but this is right in Union Square and the office building they're in (they share it) is definitely heavily guarded. take it for what you willProfessor Wagstaff wrote:The envelope in which I received some replacement inserts last October lists the address as 215 Park Avenue South as the location (printed on company labels). They definitely used to be up in the East 50s (I'm guessing that address is correct, but it's an old piece of junk mail they kept for laffs) ... does anybody know when they moved downtown?

They are on Park Avenue, near or on Union Square, I've been there, nice spacey kinda dark office with lots of framed posters. It wasn't heavily guarded when I went there (to pick up the Essential Criterion/Janus book)

After the appeasement of the Week End release, Criterion probably downgraded the hostage situation alert status from Orange to Yellow.Arn777 wrote:It wasn't heavily guarded when I went there

I've no idea. A Facebook commenter suggests there may be some explosions in Shame.

Damn. Pretty epic buzkill. I just hope that this means they have something big planned for Monday. *fingers crossed*

It probably just means someone forgot to create equal size fonts for some names above the title on one title's coverart and now they to redo it and delay the announcement til monday.criterion10 wrote:Damn. Or it means that Criterion is having second thoughts about their pink Eraserhead cover.movielocke wrote:It probably just means someone forgot to create equal size fonts for some names above the title on one title's coverart and now they to redo it and delay the announcement til monday.

Re: Criterion Facebook and Twitter
interestingly they did reply to someone's request...I mean, not sure if it means "hey, we're replying to something which means it's probable" or just further confirmation, but still, good news:
Criterion Collection @Criterion>
Criterion Collection @Criterion>
but again, this is obviously a highly anticipated title and they're probably just building steam for it.We’ll be announcing our new release slate for June on Monday, 3/18!
Donald J. Lamb @DonnieLamb>
@Criterion, any chance we see 'Safety Last'....at last ???
Criterion Collection @Criterion>
@donnielamb It's certainly possible.

I like the "at last" appended to the wish for Safety Last. Wasn't it less than six months ago that we found out Criterion had the rights to Lloyd's stuff? That's bullet train speed compared to dozens of other titles they have on the books.

Though I'm sure it helps that the Lloyd estate has taken very good care of the films.zedz wrote:I like the "at last" appended to the wish for Safety Last. Devil's Backbone confirmed for next month. On the FB page, in response to a request for a hint for July announcements and also for spine 666:

That's so obvious I'm not sure you can call it a hint.

Re: Criterion Facebook and Twitter
I wish Tim Burton would push for Warner Brothers to license Beetlejuice to Criterion. It baffles me why Warner Brothers have never prepared a proper special edition of this film. A few episodes of the cartoon and the trailer is pretty pathetic.
