Sometimes, I stumble across some meh stuff on this topic, and this is truly awful and I don't know what's worse : the desaturated look of the actors slapped on Matrix style background (not desaturated, the painting effect (Jonny Lee Miller looks like James van der Beek), the actors all watching in different directions, or the overall composition.

It's Takers bad.

Look at the bottom left corner. Someone actually signed their name to this.

EDIT: This guy, apparently. He's clearly very talented but either the expectations for this cover were very low or he was not given a lot to work with. Probably just given a couple of stills and told to make an illustration out of them.

At first glance I thought this was a Swedish release... "Floorboärd".

When did Arnold start looking like Tommy Lee Jones? The laurel makes a nice bolo tie. Is our national obsession with zombies over yet?

Edit: I guess not!

TCM
MONDAY, JUNE 29:
Zombies on Broadway (1945)

Have to admit I'm intrigued. It won't be as good as I'm imagining, though. Why didn't Mel Brooks make a zombie movie?

He looks as though a gnat just flew up his left nostril, but he is heroically resisting the temptation to stick his finger in there.

Alpha continues to love putting tacky bright blue or purple eyeshadow on seemingly all actresses on their covers, even Louise Fazenda's country girl character.

Also, most redundant title since Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo?

They've thoughtfully filled the disc with a whole 66 minutes of public domain Keystone comedies.

I guess that even a black man "to smart for his own good" must accept that, even though he plays the protagonist, he's kept off the cover art in order to make room for two lousy-looking images of Pierce Brosnan.
And as always, an impressive 3-star rating from the Maltin guide is a major feather in one's cap!

This shitty cover is limited edition too! Collect them all:

Here is what the non-limited edition cover looks like (the blu-ray will look like it once the limited edition "sells out"):

So here's a thing. Every six months or so, I check the titles on my "WHY IS THIS OUT OF PRINT" Amazon list to see if they've gotten a decent reissue, and I was excited to see a new listing for Dennis Hopper's Out of the Blue.

This is the relatively classy, well-designed cover for the ancient 1999 Anchor Bay disc:

And this is what the new rightsholders, an outfit called "United American Video," have done with it:

In conclusion, Dennis Hopper is a land of contrasts.

I doubt that company ever had any legitimate rights to the film. Out of the Blue is one of those odd titles that's been treated as public domain when it's really not (there's almost no way it could be, given that both the U.S. and Canada awarded copyright automatically by the time it was made). The notorious PD label Madacy issued their own DVD of the film just a year ahead of the United American edition.

"Erin Brown stars as two different but equally unattractive women with whom an unshaven Elmo lives in a state of decrepitude. Great chemistry between two screen legends." or something.

Isn't Erin Brown the one and only Misty Mundae, star of such amazing films like:
