IIRC, at least 2 of the cuts could be bundled together through seamless branching. Kino most likely didn't do it because seamless branching remains complex to implement without mistakes, and not implementing it often gives the impression quality is prioritised over the number of discs (while in some cases, the differences amount to 2 changes lasting 5 minutes in total, ie something perfectly adequate for seamless branching.

A similar thing happened when Warner placed Nolan's Dunkirk extra features on a dedicated BD, despite the move being a huge waste of space, since a few % of compression on the extras and everything would have fitted on 1 BD-50.

Maybe they'll have enough stock of the Touch of Evil and Apartment 4ks by then. Have they included new titles in a sale this soon previously or are we likely to have to wait until the second sale? I can't recall how soon after its street date Misery was included in a sale. I'm grateful the sale is going to last for a while as I'd like to see more feedback on the Wilder. The Arrow was encoded by Fidelity in Motion and I think Kino said this film, like The Great Escape, was also not getting an HDR grade, so this could turn out to be a negligible upgrade.

They've included new titles in their sales before, but it's a crapshoot- sometimes there are titles out for years and years that never go on sale- and those aren't even necessarily high-selling ones

I'd have thought the inclusion of the Welles and Wilder more likely prior to the stock shortage; now that by their own admission they're struggling to fulfill the pre-orders I'm looking at what 1080p titles I can include in my list to get over the $50 free shipping threshold (since either 4k disc would have helped in that regard): I've been wanting Hangover Square, It's a Gift, The Bank Dick, Charley Varrick (for the superior PQ), Canyon Passage and Clockers so hopefully at least five of those are going to be on offer (might chuck in The Spiral Staircase, too). We'll see on Thursday.

I noticed previous UHDs like Misery or The Good The Bad & The Ugly were not on sale again this time. So I would not expect The Great Escape, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Hard Target (corrected disc) and Some Like It Hot to be this low in price again from KL direct (at least not until their Christmas sale, perhaps). I see Hannibal is $12.49 but I don't recall if it'd been on sale previously. Some Like It Hot is a real bargain given how good the disc is (makes me wish I liked the damn film better!).

Kino tends to do most titles “every other sale” where the titles on this sale will probably not be included until the September sale skipping the Summer offer. There are exceptions but that’s generally been what I’ve found.

the insider did confirm there would not be more titles added to the sale, so that's good.

I have to say it's always a fun feeling checking your cart to see if there's a superior region B equivalent to a Kino release. almost always the case...I learned not to be tempted by the commentaries unless they're by someone I know (Joseph McBride, Imogen Sara Smith, etc)
