Do people really put wishlists up here for Radiance? If so, mine would be:

Peking Opera Blues should be coming from Shout Factory, in the US at least, since they bought so many HK classics recently. I don't think they've announced any licensing deals with anyone outside the US yet.

As for Pistol Opera, Radiance said they were planning on releasing it but the materials were too poor to continue on with so unless better ones pop up, doesn’t seem like we’ll be seeing a Radiance release of it soon, if at all.

The Blade is one of the HK titles owned by WB. There was a rumor a few years ago that Criterion had licensed it and Pedicab Driver but that rumor happened around the time the rumor that WB wasnt licensing out anymore of the Golden Harvest titles. So, who knows.

Cyclo did get an HD master, I think. Another in a long list of New Yorker Films titles that needs to be rescued

Yeah, I think it almost ought to be a criminal offense what WB has done with those two films.It's been decades of endless disappointment and they never seem prepared or willing to release them. The success of that remake of The Ring led to this horrific glut of remake licensing that has made it impossible to release some of these movies for decades, while these greedy, lazy companies just hold on to them and do nothing with them. It was so heartbreaking when WB finally put out both films on DVD to learn that they were planning to do a bluray release for them and just cancelled it in favor of plain DVD. F*cking creeps. It still makes me so mad. These companies should be forced to return these rights if they are unable or unwilling to exploit them.

Every time a new Tai Kato is announced, I'm disappointed it isn't Sasuke and His Comedians.

The recent restoration of Summer Vacation 1999 has had some screenings here and there but I haven't heard anything about it being licensed, sadly.

is In My Skin really big enough to be a UHD title?

New French Extremity is hotter than it's ever been, and this film's been essentially out of circulation for two decades. Severin has announced it for UHD (limited edition of 2500), and I don't see why Radiance couldn't sell an equal number (or more, given the likelihood that their tech specs will be better).

I believe only Severin's own webstore edition with slipcase is limited to 2500, general wide release is not.

If I may for a moment, I would like to ask what the possibility of the POL clue could be for The Police Officer by Tomu Uchida since we know that Fran licensed a couple of his films already for his other companies (A Fugitive from the Past for Arrow Video and The Max Foxes alongside Bloody Spear of Mount Fugi for Arrow Academy)?

I'm not seriously suggesting that VS wasn't a clue for Va Savoir, but I find it interesting that it was right next to GWS - Girl with a Suitcase. Way back, No Shame released a double-bill of Zurlini films that paired Girl with a Suitcase together with...Violent Summer.

Recently saw what looked like a restoration of a film from North Macedonia: Gypsy Magic (1997).

Very enjoyable and given we get next to nothing from that region would make an interesting release.

I wonder if the teased animated film could be a Laloux title? I wonder what the Polish title is too...perhaps some Has, Zanussi or Wajda?

I'm in the mindset of thinking the Polish film would be something that Second Run wouldn't really release. so something along the lines of Chronopolis, the early Holland, Sexmission, or a Wojciech Has film would make more sense to me. but they did overlap on Piotr Szulkin so who knows. Chronopolis and Kamler's shorts would be a terrific release for the "Animation!" clue

I said it elsewhere but Knife in the Water on Bluray with a MichaelB commentary would be a dream release

"POL" is one of the clues for upcoming releases, and we know some animated film is coming in July, so it might be a clue for Polish animation collection.

Seconded if a new master is done without the supervision of grain-hater Paweł Edelman, who DNR’d the film quite heavily for its most recent master before doing the same with The Pianist.

I received my copy of [Severin's] In My Skin today, several weeks earlier than expected. I will have to continue to cling to my Wellspring DVD because it has two short films by De Van that are not on the Severin disc: Alias and Psy-show. The Severin has two student shorts by De Van (not on the Wellspring DVD) and then, for some reason, two shorts by other filmmakers thematically related to De Van's. If anyone from Radiance is reading this thread, you have a chance to better Severin's disc simply by including those two missing shorts and by making a less eccentric choice for the subtitle font (which is mercifully white here and not yellow). [Though it may be too late if it's the French title being announced tomorrow.]

Turns out you were all right about the Polish animation! Was looking more likely when I realised Fran maybe wanted to revisit what he started with Borowcyzk back at Arrow. I love Polish poster design from that period, so I’m sure there will be some crossover there. Exciting!

Anyway, The Beast to Die was somewhat expected but I’ll definitely be getting that too. The other two are a surprise, curious about the Wang title in particular (and the slipcover is exclusive to Radiance, so I could even be tempted to preorder the bundle).

Hmmm...probably just the Vecchiali film for me as a day one purchase.

P.S. I'm on the fence about blind buying (the US edition of) the Corneau set. It seems interesting. I'm just not sure how much replay value those will have.

This year will see a double-bill from an overlooked French master, three further volumes of existing collections, 3 UHD releases, 8 first time on disc titles, our usual bevy of Blu-ray world premieres with releases by celebrated auteurs from Japan, France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Belgium and South Korea, alongside some of our greatest discoveries!

Greece, Belgium, and South Korea join the Radiance map!

Fingers crossed it's something from Delvaux, maybe Rendez-vous à Bray or The Man Who Had His Hair Cut Short (which has a recent 2K restoration)?
