Was thinking of throwing in a t-shirt because my well-loved maroon crazy C T disappeared somewhere (wouldn't be surprised if my ex stole it) and was thinking of replacing it, but they don't do colors anymore. Checked to see if they do merch sales from old emails and it looks like last was June 24. Also contemplated the Criterion Closet tchotchke, anyone find a use for it besides display? If they no longer do merch sales I just might pad order with that for free shipping.

What film is that from underneath the sale announcement on the CC site?

Edit: Never mind. Just did an image search. I see it’s from Life of Brian

Criterion to establish brick-and-mortar home in Canada at Cinema Cellar

I assume all the labels that are distributed by Cinema Cellar will be stocked , not just Criterion titles.

That’s actually the last line in the article: “the company says it will also feature films from other labels.”

Though it would be funny if it was just a Criterion Closet-sized shop that only sold Criterion discs.

Guess I just spaced on that last paragraph.

My brother went to the Cinema Cellar and I guess right now it's completely dedicated to Criterion during the festival. He mentioned they had an open copy of the Kubrick set there to look at, not for sale.

Criterion's webstire is having a 30% off UHD sale until Sept 20th. If you have a Channel anniversary coupon that is expiring on October 7th you might want to use it now, just in case the flash sale happens after that date.

You need to buy 3 to get free shipping, so It's cheaper to just wait for 50% off everything.

I'm seriously tempted to pre-order Shop Around The Corner with The Secret Agent since all my funds will be used up for the Kubrick set in February and they've got a 30% sale on till 9/20 (I could probably find another 4K to qualify for free shipping). But will they wait with shipping until the pre-orders are hitting or not?

Are we expecting the next 50% off to be in October?

Yes, the big question is before or after Kubrick box release.

I'm a subscriber and got zero coupons last time (for the first time). This is probably a personal bitch more than a harbinger of widespread things to come.

Just got a $10 coupon…

I'm a loyal criterion.com shopper, so it says.

(But I gave that up a year or two ago, so…)

Sale starts noon tomorrow.

First expiring coupons now no coupons? Recession indicator.

I got a coupon too and had no intention of buying anything. Probably why they did it!

Yep, I also received one, with the Flash Sale announcement:
We love our loyal criterion.com shoppers and want to tell you first: our 24-hour Flash Sale starts tomorrow! All in-stock discs will be 50% off SRP, beginning noon ET on October 20.

I received one for being a loyal shopper, but not a Channel-related one. This is a first and annoying, but I suppose they don't have to do these sales.

EDIT: I literally receive the Channel-related one a minute later.

I got a loyal customer one and not a channel subscriber one. I wonder if they are doing away with the codes for channel subscribers?

Edited to add, I just got the channel one.
