Mondo Digital have just updated their Salon Kitty review, which reminded me that this had sets by Ken Adam, aka the regular Production Designer for the Bond films and Kubrick's Dr Strangelove and - just before Salon Kitty - Barry Lyndon!

That's a shame, Gloria and A Fantastic Woman were both excellent films. I never got round to watching The Wonder with Florence Pugh.

RIP. One of my favorite guitarists. Alchemy is a great, overlooked album. His autobiography is also an entertaining read.

Richard Lloyd is one of my all-time favorite guitarists. Television alone would've done it, but his work with Matthew Sweet and the re-united Rocket from the Tombs (replacing the late Peter Laughner) was also great. His first two solo albums (fairly different in style) feature excellent performances on guitar as well.

It's still a shock that he's gone. He was touring a lot, all the way up to his March diagnosis and turning up at a NYC gig every few months even though he moved to Nashville years ago. It's all the more grim considering so many of his peers have recently passed in quick succession: Verlaine in 2023, David Thomas last year, Fred Smith in February, and Cheetah Chrome (a very close friend and fellow Nashville resident) less than two months ago. Even Matthew Sweet suffered a major stroke in 2024 that left him severely debilitated.
