People have demand-like requests all the time, "Release this now damn it" type things. So yeah, I named names, and shouldn't of, but I meant my question (just a regular question with no "minor" laughs or anything like people do here) to be a question and nothing more. Didn't have any demanding words, or hateful ones.

It's funny I'm getting snarky responses from people here (not yours aox, just in general) for my facebook question to a Business that everybody has something to complain about (everyones guilty of it), only to go up a couple of posts and read those posts or read that Peter Becker hate day responses from people on here.

Allegedly there's a hint at Bicycles Thieves on the face books (De Sica is also in the current today but that may mean nothing). Can any FB users confirm or deny? (I don't use Facebooks or I'd check).

They wrote "Vittorio De Sica was an actor long before he made UMBERTO D. or BICYCLE THIEVES. Watch a clip of his tremendous performance from Rossellini's IL GENERALE DELLA ROVERE here:"

Yeah, unless there is something else, that is hardly a hint. However, Bicycle Thieves is an obvious choice for BD-upgrade.

OK. Looks like they're just promoting the Current.

Aren't we all film lovers and Criterion devotees? The criticisms of Facebook posters seem sort of hypocritical, like they're the wrong kind of cinephiles.. "Don't embarrass us in front of Criterion!"

That's certainly a narrow, one dimensional way, of framing the situation.

De Sica's birthday month, July, is when tomorrow's annoucements will be released, so a good chance something will happen with his name in or on it.

If they're going to do De Sica in July they might as well give us Bicycle Thieves and Umberto D.

It's also Bergman's birthday month so I am anticipating an announcement for Wild Strawberries.

Is there any chance Criterion could release Shoeshine?

it has nothing to do with what kind of "cinephiles" they are. it has everything to do with the incredibly redundant posting of begging for the same 17 movies and guys like that Bill meliwhatever who insist on voicing an opinion on everyone's posts and the others who treat the facebook page like their personal message board. There are just a lot of really annoying and repetitive posters who can't seem to stop themselves form posting the same crap ad infinitum. it's depressing.

The real annoying thing about those Facebook posters is that they are why Criterion has pretty much stopped responding to posts on their Facebook page. And when Criterion does respond it gets buried under all that noise.

That reminds me of how much fun I have every fifteenth reading the 'I hate every new cover! thread. "What were they thinking with that font!" etc etc

Criterion's Facebook wall can easily be summarised: Criterion must release everything. On Blu-ray. Why isn't Criterion releasing everything? On Blu-ray.

In particular: Why doesn't Criterion release [X Film with stellar edition already available, usually Region A friendly]?

They've caught on to the negative reception here, and the reaction was that we are just haters. Oh please.
