God, if there is anything more grating to the ears than Mary Hart's voice I'd like to hear it...well, not really.

Here's the English-subtitled trailer for my favorite film of the year so far, Let The Right One In. Saw it a few months ago at SIFF and loved it. Can't wait to see it again. And again. Don't think this trailer does it justice though, c'est la vie.

Sunshine Cleaning
I was looking forward to this but the trailer makes me far less enthusiastic than I was going in

I liked the bit with the mattress. Nice mix of gross and physical humor.

The kid being weird and licking things and Arkin's lines made this seem like Little Miss Squid and the Whale, but Amy Adams is so good that I hope this trailer is just trying to appeal to the indie movie crowd and that the movie is actually much better than the trailer makes it look

I don't have a trailer, but has anyone noticed the ad campaign for "Saw V." It has one of the laziest, most straightforward taglines I've ever read:

"You won't believe how it ends"

I just...I just don't know what to say. Perhaps it's not that straightforward. I mean, this could have a negative OR positive connotation. Unbelievable things can be awful. And, the fact that it's like "Hey folks! The ending has a twist. See this movie you'll like it if you like a twist ending." It's going to be number one in the box office and I'm going to sigh.

If it's done right this Stars of the Lid feature film has the potential to be great (if it captures half the experience of a live show that would honestly be enough for me). Not sure exactly what to make of the 2010 release date though.

I went to Sawfest with some of my friends who love the franchise. After the 3rd I was dying to get out of there. I fell asleep during the 5th.

It is a horrible franchise that will never end because the studio execs are milking the twist endings until there will be
Saw X - Tagline: we are serious, it is going to end this time.

Normally I wouldn't have much interest in something like Splinter judging from thetrailer but it currently has a 90% on rottentomatoes. Hmm.

David Edelstein recommends it. Have been interested in catching this one, but it's only being released to a handful of theaters while Saw and the latest haunted teen junk are unleashed to thousands of screens. I'm hoping Magnolia doesn't take long to put the DVD out.

I caught it on HDnet the other day. It was nifty little thriller, slick with blood. Not as good as 90% would suggest, but enjoyable! Scuttling severed body parts menacing people always makes for a good watch. Yes, hopefully they will be speedy with the dvd release.

Cadillac Records, the story of the Chess label. If you've ever wanted to see Beyonce play Etta James and proceed to thoroughly butcher "At Last", this is the film for you.
