Strange that they didn't change that part to say "The Eel", especially when they specifically mention Weak Spot as one of the titles, a title that is being released in the same month as The Eel. I take this to mean that there are more Palme D'Or winners getting a release.Calvin wrote: Sun Dec 29, 2024 10:27 am Won't the Palme d'Or winner just be The Eel? I suppose other possibilities would be Eternity and a Day (Angelopolous has always been high on Fran's wish list but the last update was that there had been no response from his estate), Yol, or a UK Blu release of Pialat's Under the Sun of Satan.

Re: Radiance Films General Discussion & Wishlist
Ah, makes sense. Since I'm in the US, I'm leaning towards dropping the hefty price for all the releases. I bet it's cheaper than choosing the US bundle and filling in when there's a UK-only release. Have you found this to be true of the 2023 or 2024 bundles? There were 43 releases in 2024. If there are the same number in 2025, some quick math puts it around £18.22 (£783.33/43) per release which seems reasonable.

I'm a 3-year gold subscriber and haven't done that math. Just guessing but if you think you'll want to own all or most all of their output, the bundle's probably worth it

I doubt the label would put their initial limited UHD resources into boosting the image of a conversation. I imagine they’re going to be more visually elaborate worksrrenault wrote: Sun Dec 29, 2024 8:53 am Also, could La Notti Bianchi be one of the UHD titles possibly?

Weak Spot is released in January. The Eel is released in March. The post about the Palme d’Or winner was made earlier so the Imamura is indeed the award winner we singled out in the tease.yoloswegmaster wrote: Sun Dec 29, 2024 11:35 pm Strange that they didn't change that part to say "The Eel", especially when they specifically mention Weak Spot as one of the titles, a title that is being released in the same month as The Eel. For some reason I thought it was being released in January. Thanks for the correction and the confirmation.Radiance wrote: Tue Dec 31, 2024 10:59 amWeak Spot is released in January. Radiance shared on instagram that Planet of the Vampires, Haxan, L' Amour Fou, Suzhou River and The Shape of Night were their top 5 bestsellers from 2024.

they just tweeted this:
'Say what you see

Check-in tomorrow morning for answers'
First one seems to be 'Tale of Sorrow and Sadness' and guessing #4 is 'Who Knows', not sure about the other three.

I'm assuming #4 is a confirmation for Va savoir.

If a Tale of Sorrow and Sadness is announced could it possible that it’s going to be Radiance’s first 4K title since I could hardly see a better filmmaker to kick off the format with.

Any possibility #5 would be Lady Battle Cop? Would that fit their vibe?

I think that is the emoji they used on Twitter, I couldn't figure out how to post a screenshot of the tweet here so I just copied it and it changed a few of the emojis slightly.
I think this is probably right, ROG is one of the clues.

Re: Radiance Films General Discussion & Wishlist
isn't River of Grass probably with Second Run? they could have a different Reichardt title
it could be Pastoral: To Die in the Country

River of Grass was also a Strand title that Oscilloscope licensed, and Suzhou River was a Strand title in the states-- could be they have a relationship with whoever has these titles internationally

Is 5 Killer Cop? It's a 70s Italian crime film, so seems up Fran's alley

Re: Radiance Films General Discussion & Wishlist
Hadn't thought of River of Grass! Great if true, but yeah I'd assumed that was coming from Second Run (unless they let Radiance have it for some reason). The 'ROG' clue does add up for that one too.
If the Suzuki clue is correct, definitely pre-ordering that and the Reichardt...maybe the Rivette too.
As I've said elsewhere, the fifth clue must be Killer Cop for Raro Video, no?

If it is then it’s definitely a Raro title since they released it in the US.therewillbeblus wrote: Tue Jan 07, 2025 7:10 pm Is 5 Killer Cop? It's a 70s Italian crime film, so seems up Fran's alley

they also just licensed What Happened Was (or at least it's new restoration) from Oscilloscope. so that would make a lot of sense!domino harvey wrote: Tue Jan 07, 2025 7:10 pm River of Grass was also a Strand title that Oscilloscope licensed, and Suzhou River was a Strand title in the states-- could be they have a relationship with whoever has these titles internationally
either way this is gonna be a very stacked lineup tomorrow, can't wait

River of Grass would definitely fit the "90s Crime Film by celebrated American auteur" clue.

Re: Radiance Films General Discussion & Wishlist
I really really want the 90s crime film clue to be for The Funeral though.
