I've lived in Vienna for the past 6 years. A brief overview of Criterion's changing relationship with overseas customer assistance in that time:
- January 2022: Shipped the replacement Citizen Kane Disc 1 to Vienna free of charge.
- January 2026: Shipped the replacement 4k of Royal Tenenbaums for 12 USD
- August 2026: Offered to ship replacement disc of Island of Lost Souls for 17 USD, I declined
- October 2026: Just noticed that my Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid 4K contains two disc 1s and no disc 2--Criterion is offering to ship the second disc to me for 20 USD!
This, coming right after the Channel suddenly getting geoblocked outside of the US, is making it extremely difficult to be a happy Criterion customer living abroad
