I know Sister Hyde said that cover's usage of pink was coincidental, but I personally felt it was perfect, both as tribute and cause the color actually does suit the film. Buñuel used pink for the key art for his three final films too, no reason he wouldn't have for ViridianaMatt wrote: Fri Feb 13, 2026 9:56 pmI will actually concede that point. Radiance's cover uses the same color and the same image, but with a shadowy Fernando Rey looking over Pinal's shoulder, which I think captures the predatory nature of his character perfectly and thus captures the spirit of the film even more.mfunk9786 wrote: Fri Feb 13, 2026 9:31 pm Captures the spirit of the film much better than the ‘official’ one.
and I agree that Criterion's cover totally misreads the tone of the movie. I'll be skipping their upcoming 4K outright - superfluous to own alongside the Radiance I think
